Zum 27. Mal fand die internationale Kartmesse statt. Zahlrei‑ che Hersteller, Händler und Lieferanten präsentierten sich auf der IKA Kart 2000 dem internationalen Messe‑Publikum. Der DMSB stellte mit der Deutschen Kart‑Meisterschaft (DKM) das Rennpro‑ DMSB-Terminkalender für Automo- gramm für 2019 vor. Gleichzeitig standen Elektrokart auf dem DMSB‑Stand. bil- und Motorradsport online die Fachleute des DMSB für die Fragen Der DMSB hat aktuelle Terminkalender der Besucher bereit. für den Automobil‑ und Motorradsport 2019 veröffentlicht.     Which nation is best in Nordic elite sport? Which nation is best in Nordic elite sport? An analysis of the results of Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden in international elite sport - past and present By Michael Andersen, Scandinavian Network for Elite Sport (1) This article focuses on elite sport in Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden, from historical and current perspectives. These Nordic nations have far more similarities than dissimilarities. They are all strong welfare models. Frequently, the model of Nordic welfare is admired by people, both inside and outside the Nordic nations. This model forms values, standards, structures and organization of a number of areas in the societies, including sport for all and elite sport. All four nations rank high in international comparison of e.g. economy, education, health or trust in public authorities. But how well do the nations perform, globally and among each other when it comes to elite sport? Why have they chosen four different elite sport models? Which nations prioritize winter sports, and which prioritize summer sports. And what sports - Olympic or non-Olympic - are the most competitive in each nation? These questions are attempted answered in the following pages. The final part of the 13th IDBF World Dragon Boat Championships for Premier and Senior crews took place in Kunming China. The Championship got off to a wonderful start with an absolutely amazing opening ceremony with beautiful dancing by many of the ethnic groups from the YUN Nan Province. There was some exciting racing from the 2000 competitors from 22 countries. As always, the finals of each competition class were hotly contested and all the results can be found on www.idbfchamps.org. The various Nations cups were presented at an emotional closing ceremony to: China – Nations Cup Canada – Senior Cup Canada – Women’s Cup In the concluding part of the ceremony the IDBF Flag was passed from China to Thailand for the next World Championships in 2019. 2017 Congress Meeting The following morning the IDBF members assembled for the 16th IDBF Ordinary Congress where 32 countries were represented. During my welcome address as President I expressed our appreciation to Mike MacKeddie-Haslam for all the work he has done in the development of dragon boating around the world. He was presented with a glass plate in appreciation and members were informed that council had awarded him the title Founder Honorary President in recognition of his magnificent contribution to Dragon Boat Development.
