I will set the world on its head!” —David C. “Receiving a scholarship was for me an opportunity to not give up and to keep going.” —Dora R. “This is a good step towards my future!” —Sergio M. “This is not just my achievement: it’s my family’s achievement and that of every member of The Palapa Society, without whom this dream wouldn’t be possible. Thank you.” —Osiris V. The Palapa Society of Todos Santos, A.C., is a multi- cultural, non-profit Mexican Civil Association. The mission is the development and administration of scholarship, educational, and environmental programs for the benefit of local children and their families, with a goal that every student who yearns for an education has a chance to acquire it. This philosophy applies to all members of the community, which is why scholarships funds are raised for all students, whether they attend public school, The Palapa School, or university. WHY SCHOLARSHIPS? Over 15 years ago, The Palapa Society began as a scholarship program. In Mexico, students must pay for a portion of their schooling. The Palapa Society’s Beca Scholarship Program has helped to cover necessities such as tuition, books, and supplies for students who demonstrate merit and have a financial need.
