Everett Jordan of North Carolina is the new Presi dent and George Meader of Michigan is Vice-President. After our business meeting, our "remllon" !n the House Chamber, and luncheon, we had two 1nf'armative briefings. First, the Secretary of' the ~easury, the Honorable George Shultz, discussed very fre.nkly our present fiscal situation, budget, 1n:f'lation, interna tionaJ. balance of trade and p~ts, gold, etc. - the problems end the prospects. He gave r ecent facts end figures to support his basic optimism regardinG the :f'u.ture. Chief Justice Warren Burger of the SUpreme Court gave a comprehensive an~sis of the problems can:f:'ranted by our FedereJ. courts and judges, our lawyers and law schools, etc. with suggestions for dealing with them. All, and particular~ our own lawyers, were great~ appreciative of his presentation. In each case many questions were asked and most said we had nmrer had more interesting and use:f'ul sessions. The reception at 5:00 p.m. far our members and the FM:: Auxiliary C1f wives and widows of former Members was del1ght:f'uJ.. It was decided to have the next general. meeting in Washingtcm in late October. JIDclosed is a list by state of our 393 current members. Most of you have sent your 19'73 aues.
