Not bringing BRP notification letter. Vulnerable group • Working age (50 – 60) unable to claim Universal Credit or find jobs due to lack of language, job and computer skills. • Elderly ex-Gurkhas and widows with no one to help them. They rely very much on GWACs and their ex-Gurkha communities to help them with their documentations and welfare needs . Registered Charity No. 1103669 Summary The pressing priority is support for elderly Gurkhas in difficulties in UK, but ‘normal’ welfare work continues. Still substantial pressure on services in Aldershot & Farnborough (Rushmoor) through sheer scale and speed of influx. Majority lack language skill and are without dependants to help them. Continuing crucial role of the Gurkha Settlement Office Importance of the Gurkha Welfare Trust involvement in the UK Admirable mutual support within the Gurkha Communities.
