  • Indian Railways Budget Speech 1988-89 480 Speech of Shri
Indian Railways Budget Speech 1988-89 Speech of Shri Madhavrao Scindia Introducing the Railway Budget, 1988-89 on 24 th february, 1988 Mr. Speaker, Sir, I rise to present the Revised Estimates for the year 1987-88 and Budget Estimates for the year 1988-89 for the Indian Railways. Introduction 2. It was gratifying for us in the Railways to have received continued support and encouragement from Honourable Members from all sections of the House, and ever-increasing co-operation from members of the public. This served to enthuse and inspire Railwaymen to new heights in the year 1986-87, and in the current year 1987-88. 2.1 The best productivity indicator of freight operations, Net Tonne Kilometres per Wagon per Day, which had increased to 1296 (BG), in 1985-86, reached a new high when it touched 1420 in the year 1986-87-- an improvement of as much as 10%. 1350 was the target for the terminal year of the 7th Plan. I am happy to say, we have steamed way past this figure three years ahead of time. It has enabled the Indian Railways to retain the position it had achieved last year as a world leader in freight capacity utilisation, leaving behind countries even in the developed world. Members will appreciate the magnitude of the increased freight transport effort when I state that with only a very marginal increase in the wagon fleet, the first two years of the 7th Plan together, have produced an additional 41.1 billion net tonne kilometres. This has surpassed by as much as 56% in these two years alone, the transport increase of 26.2 billion in the entire five year period taken together, of the 6th Plan.

  • Report of Cultural Interaction Happened Between GITA
Report of cultural interaction happened between GITA Bhubneswar and College of Engineering Pune March 9-13, 2020 EK BHARAT SHRESHTHA BHARAT Time and technology have narrowed down distances in terms of connect and communication. In an era that facilitates mobility and outreach, it is important to establish cultural exchanges between people of different regions, to further human bonding and a common approach to nation-building. Mutual understanding, reverence are the foundations of India's strength and all citizens should feel culturally integrated in all corners of India. Students from the north-east, for example, should not feel like 'strangers in a strange land' when they arrive in Delhi. With the same objective, Hon. Prime minister Shri. Narendra Modi on Rashtriya Ekta Diwas i.e. 31 st October 2015, launched the ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’ Scheme, under which states and Union Territories of India would be paired with each other for one year to carry out Cultural exchange between them. For the same, Maharashtra State has been paired with Odisha for the year 2020. College of Engineering Pune has got privilege to get paired with Gandhi Institute of Technological Advancement, Bhubaneswar(GITA), Odisha. GITA is located on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar. It was founded in 2004 and is one of the leading private colleges in Odisha. The aim of the pairing was to make the students aware of the cultures of either state so that the fear of being in some unknown place should be removed from the minds of the students. As a stepping stone to fulfil this aim, 33 students of Gandhi Institute of Technological Advancement, Bhubaneswar visited College of Engineering Pune during 9th March 2020 to 13 th March 2020.

www.teachersteam.in PREFACE Learning in the classroom cannot be a joyful experience for the child unless we change our perception of the child as a receiver of knowledge and unless we move beyond the conven- tional use of the text book as the basis for examination. The present CCE mode of curriculum has evolved from State Curriculum Framework (SCF) 2011. Here the teacher is a facilitator. Gone are the days when the children open their mouths in the classroom only to answer the few questions posed by the teacher. Gone are the days when only the teacher dominates the entire class. The CCE mode of learning is activity based learning through Projects, Assignments and through real life situations which bring the society at large into the classroom as stated by SCF-2011 : Children's life at school must be linked to their life outside the school. Thus projects are part and parcel of classroom learning. As we are all aware, projects are a set of activities in which students understand the concept thoroughly, collectively collect relevant information and ar- rive at certain conclusions. Projects, done in groups, as they should be, develop skills in Aca- demic Standards such as Communication, Problem Solving, Connection with other subjects and Representation & Visualization. In this book, suggestible projects are presented class wise, subject wise, chapter wise and concept wise. The teacher plays a vital role in making the students do the projects. He/she should have a thorough understanding of the projects before they are taken into the classroom. The projects should be clearly explained to the students so that they are done with complete comprehension and with keen interest.
