Booking Train Ticket Through Internet Website: Irctc.Co.In Booking Booking Train Ticket through internet Website: irctc.co.in Booking Guidelines: 1. The input for the proof of identity is not required now at the time of booking. 2. One of the passengers in an e-ticket should carry proof of identification during the train journey. 3. Voter ID card/ Passport/PAN Card/Driving License/Photo Identity Card Issued by Central/State Government are the valid proof of identity cards to be shown in original during train journey. 4. The input for the proof of identity in case of cancellation/partial cancellation is also not required now. 5. The passenger should also carry the Electronic Reservation Slip (ERS) during the train journey failing which a penalty of Rs. 50/- will be charged by the TTE/Conductor Guard. 6. Time table of several trains are being updated from July 2008, Please check exact train starting time from boarding station before embarking on your journey. 7. For normal I-Ticket, booking is permitted at least two clear calendar days in advance of date of journey. 8. For e-Ticket, booking can be done upto chart Preparation approximately 4 to 6 hours before departure of train. For morning trains with departure time upto 12.00 hrs charts are prepared on the previous night. 9. Opening day booking (90th day in advance, excluding the date of journey) will be available only after 8 AM, along with the counters.     ReportReport No.No. 55 ofof 20120188 (Railways) (Railways) ChapterChapter 5 5 Chapter 5 Signalling & Telecommunication At Railway Board level, Director General is overall in-charge of Signalling & Telecommunication (S&T), a Department of Indian Railways who directly reports Chairman Railway Board. At Zonal level, the Chief Signalling and Telecom Engineer (CSTE) is responsible for overall supervision and maintenance of S&T assets. For enhancing efficiency and safety in train operation, modern signaling plays a very vital role. The Signalling Department handles induction and maintenance of signalling systems such as Multi Aspect Colour Light signaling (MACLS), Panel Interlocking (PI), Route Relay Interlocking (RRI), Electronic Interlocking (EI), Automatic Block Signaling, Block proving by Axle Counter, enhancement of safety at level crossing by Interlocking of level crossings and provision of telephones at manned level crossings etc. The Telecom Department oversees the complete working of Telecom in Railways and takes care of all the telecommunication requirements of Railways. The expenditure on repair and maintenance of plant and equipment of S&T department during the year 2016-17 was ` 2856.49 crore161. A capital expenditure of ` 966.58 crore was incurred on creation of S&T assets. During the year, apart from regular audit of vouchers and tenders, 180 offices of the Department were inspected. This chapter includes a long paragraph on ‘Implementation of Mobile Train Radio Communication (MTRC) system over Indian Railways’. In this paragraph, Audit reviewed the status of implementation of the MTRC system on Indian Railways and analysed reasons of sub-optimal/non-utilisation of the system. In addition there are two individual paragraphs highlighting non-utilisation of handsets procured for MTRC system and avoidable liability on account of Spectrum Charges due to failure to review the use of Walkie Talkie sets.

    Railway Budget 07-08 Speech of Shri Lalu Prasad February 26, 2007 Introducing the Railway Budget 2007-2008 Mr Speaker Sir, Presenting my fourth consecutive Railway Budget, I have a tremendous sense of pride and gratitude. Pride in the fact that without imposing undue burden on the common man, the Railways are poised to create history by generating a cash surplus before Dividend of Rs 20,000 cr as against Rs 14,700 cr in the previous year. This is the same Railway that defaulted on payment of Dividend and whose fund balances dipped to Rs 359 cr in 2001. I express heartfelt gratitude towards 14 lakh railway employees who in the face of stiff competition have conquered all odds with an indomitable spirit displaying matchless zeal, vigour and teamwork. Sir, Lord Krishna was acclaimed as Giridhar when in a moment of crisis he lifted Mount Govardhan on his finger. However, he did this with the supporting hands of thousands of fellow villagers. Even though people are giving me the credit for the turnaround of the Railways, with all humility I would like to share with the august House that this miracle has been brought about through the tireless efforts of 14 lakh railway employees and unbounded affection and support of my country men. Sir, I would just say: Navajis hai sabki, karam hai sabhi ka, Bade fakhra se ham bulandi par aaye. Tarakki ke sare mayaron se aage, Naye dhang laaye, nayee soch laaye. 2 By rendering an unprecedented surplus inspite of the reduction in passenger fares, we have disproved the myth that Railways were sinking in to a financial crisis due to social obligations.
