Music At The Creek

Another splendid ‘Music At The Creek’ with a larger than usual attendance Festive Fiddler of enthusiasts experienced typical Majors Creek weather. Hot, cold, dry, windy, calm, foggy, rainy — but few noticed the Festi- val atmosphere and some excellent music kept everyone happy. When not performing in concerts members of the outstanding gypsy music group ‘Bizurka’ performed at the session bar area while Dave De Santi led a mid- Dave O’Neil & Bob Rogers oval traditional session in the background. There was plenty of action. Highlights of the program were O’Neil Sandy Gibney Silver Strings and Rogers, the spine tingling singing of Triantan in the Old Church building, and a ‘new kid on the block’ AP D’Antonio with some fine American numbers. The highly amplified Melbourne group ‘The Go Set’ were so popular with the young crowd the whole audience became a marquee full of dancers at an improbably early hour of the morning whilst the more ‘mature’ folkies grumbled into their first coffee.
