ALLTEL Launches Internet Powered by InfoSpace's Platform And Suite of Services

(Nasdaq: INSP), a leading global provider of merchant and consumer infrastructure services on wireless and other platforms, today announced that ALLTEL has launched "Web- Unwired," its new wireless Internet service using InfoSpace's wireless platform and integrated suite of services. InfoSpace's wireless infrastructure services enable ALLTEL to offer its customers the ability to access information and manage their lives from their ALLTEL-powered mobile phone.

ALLTEL's Web-Unwired wireless Internet service can be customized in a retail store and is ready for use immediately. Customers now can walk into an ALLTEL retail store and select one of four screen formats as a starting point for a wide range of cutting-edge wireless Web applications. Customers also can set up a "My ALLTEL" page accessible via their wireless phones or home computers. Moreover, customers can unify their e-mail and set up just one e-mailbox that is accessible by both their wireless phones and home computers.

Web-Unwired is available in the markets of Little Rock; Charlotte; Albuquerque, N.M.; Cleveland and Akron, ; El Paso, ; Tampa and Fort Myers, Fla.; and Phoenix and Tucson, Ariz. The 10 markets include 46 cities. ALLTEL plans to make Web-Unwired available in all of its digital markets by the end of the year.
