Job title: Head of Responsible to: Director of MYH Hours: 5 days/week (some evening and weekends required) Salary: Competitive Contract: Permanent full time Holiday entitlement: 20 days (excluding bank holidays)

Overview of role The (MYH) is a national award winning providing faith and culturally sensitive support services to young people in the UK. Its core service is a free and confidential helpline open seven days a week via telephone, email, internet chat and text. MYH is a dynamic organisation that puts service to its clients at the heart of everything that it does. The Head of Fundraising will lead, develop and implement the MYH fundraising strategy to raise significant funds and awareness of MYH’s work; manage fundraising information and data ensuring donor information is kept up to date; co-ordinate fundraising volunteers and develop fundraising tools and resources to support MYH’s fundraising strategy; and build trusted relationships with donors and partners.

MYH is looking for a passionate, responsible individual to lead the fundraising function of the organisation. There is a high level of responsibility as the new recruit creates the fundraising strategy along with the Director of the organisation. We envision a community based approach, and a concerted effort to maintain a balance between grant funding and community funding. The long term sustainability of the organisation is paramount.

We also envision the establishment of regional outposts and fundraising activity, so some travel may be required.

Main responsibilities

• Oversee the development, document and implementation of a fundraising strategy to ensure the sustainable development of the charity. Take ownership of this strategy. • Coordinate fundraising activities from community and independent sources (including high-net worth individuals, corporates and foundations) to raise income against agreed targets including follow up with donors. • Develop and implement new fundraising ideas as well as build on existing sources. • Report progress against agreed objectives for monthly operational meetings and quarterly for the Board of Trustees. 58-60 Fitzroy Street 0207 435 8171 London [email protected] W1T 5BU myh.org.uk

• Build and cultivate excellent relationships with key donors and stakeholders. • Draft high quality and professional fundraising materials as needed. • Identify appropriate high integrity external design and marketing agencies and work with them to produce quality fundraising materials. • Work with the Helpline Manager to be able to relay the vision of the helpline through case studies to potential and current donors. • Work with the Head of Marketing to align fundraising and marketing activities. • Work with the Head of Marketing to implement specific pre planned campaigns across the year, taking responsibility for the fundraising part of each campaign. • Recruit and manage volunteers, interns and other staff to assist with fundraising activities. • Maintain the donor information database, ensuring all records including mailing list are up to date. Where appropriate suggest and implement specific improvements to the system and process for recording, tracking and communicating with donors. • Develop a process to stay in touch with donors as appropriate. This could be through emails, reports, or whatever is deemed appropriate. • Ensure all processes conform with GDPR requirements. • Ensure all received are processed in a timely manner and aid is claimed where appropriate. • Participate in social media activities to support fundraising. • To undertake other duties that may from time to time, be necessary and compatible with the nature of this post.

The specified hours above are an indication only. The successful candidate may be expected to work additional hours and on occasional weekends as well as attend events outside of London to represent the Charity.
