BY SOPHIE CAMPBELL. PHOTOGRAPHS BY YADID LEVY The fishing village of Reine, on Moskenesøya in the Lofoten Islands 90 f you are a cod, these are the killing fields. Bunches of drying fish twist in the wind on birch frames the size of Dutch barns, and chunky working boats bristle with radar, net winches and fish-finding gear. If you are an artist, this is a land of light, clear and simple, which is why so many have made their way here in the past century and a half. If you are a visitor, this is where mountains shoot Iout of the sea like fins, their reflections diving to unfathomable depths in the fjords, and sweet little wooden houses cluster in shades of lemon and dove and brick and sky. But you mustn’t look too hard in case you fly off roads raised to let meltwater flow away and edged only with flimsy red poles. The Lofoten Islands barely qualify as an archipelago. More bridges swoop between the seven main islands, and around them skitter innumerable rocks and skerries. Fish is everywhere. It glints through the history and swims through the art.

    Visitas foredrag Buksnes og Hol 5.-11.02.2018 Denne uken har biskopen i Sør Hålogaland vært på visitas i Hol og Buksnes menigheter. Visitaser en gammel skikk i Den norske kirke, og det er fortsatt en av biskopens viktigste oppgaver. Gjennom visitasen får biskopen anledning til å bli nærmere kjent med menigheten og lokalmiljøet, og dette gir grunnlag for at biskopen på en bedre måte kan ivareta det tilsynsansvar med ansatte og kirkelige råd som tilligger biskoptjenesten. Samtidig er en visitas en mulighet for menigheten til å vurdere og tenke om menighetens drift på nye måter. Ikke minst er visitasen en del av det åndelige ansvar biskopen har, og visitasens mål er at dette både er til inspirasjon for menighetene og biskopen. Når biskopen reiser på visitas reiser hun ikke alene. På denne visitasen har kirkefagsjef Torkel Irgens fra Sør Hålogaland bispedømmerådskontor vært med, og den lokale prost, Kristine Sandmæl som er prost i Lofoten prosti, er en viktig tilrettelegger og deltager i visitasen. De to sokneprestene, Eimund Kibsgaard Nordberg i Buksnes og Marit Plener Gran i Hol, er sammen med kirkevergen Anne Lise Haakestad viktige premissleverandører for visitasens program og gjennomføringen av det. Kirkevergen ble dessverre syk, og vi har savnet at hun var med. Men den gode planleggingen og organiseringen på forhånd har gjort at visitasen fint kunne gjennomføres med hjelp av rådgiver på kirkevergekontoret Per-Arne Lie og leder i kirkelig fellesråd Terje Wiik. Flere av de andre ansatte og folkevalgte har også lagt ned et stort arbeid i visitasen, og biskopen vil takke for alle som har bidratt slik at vi fikk en så innholdsrik visitas.
