Top, Middle, and Bottom

The concepts of top, middle, bottom can be found in all sorts of things in our daily lives. In the classroom, understanding of these concepts is important for students to learn how to reference calendars, books, lists, classroom schedules, and so much more!

January is a great time to build a snowman outside with your ! Roll or take 3 chunks of snow and talk about top, middle, bottom while you build the snowman.

If you decorate it, talk about where the hat would go, where the arms would go, and where the feet would go on the snowman using the words top, middle and bottom.

Talk about the concepts of top, middle, and bottom for things we see every day like sandwiches, traffic lights, and shelves!

Can you and your child think of other things have a top, a middle, and a bottom?
