El productor ejecutivo Carter Bays dijo que se parecería más a las primeras temporadas en lo que a narración se refiere. Barney, después de que su hermano afroamericano James descubra quién es su padre, de cide emprender la búsqueda del suyo. Sin embargo, cuando su madre le entrega un pa pel con la identidad del mismo, Barney decide romperlo sin saber de quién se trata en reconocimiento a la labor de padre que ella tuvo que ejercer con él y con Jame s. Por otro lado, Ted es contratado por el GNB para construir un nuevo edificio en Nueva York en el solar que ahora ocupa un antiguo edificio llamado The Arcadi an, que tendrá que ser derribado. En ese momento se cruza en su camino Zoey Pierso n (Jennifer Morrison), una joven que haría cualquier cosa con tal de evitar la des trucción del edificio. Se hacen amigos y Ted descubre que está casada con un multimi llonario que se autoproclama "El capitán". Mientras, Robin decide dejar su trabajo cuando su nueva e infantil compañera empieza a eclipsarla, por lo que acepta un t rabajo como investigadora del World Wide News donde coincide con su antiguo comp añero Sandy Rivers. Marshall y Lily siguen intentando ser padres y acuden al doctor Stangel, el verd adero dopplegänger de Barney, que verifica que Marshall es fértil. Poco después, el ho mbre de Minnessota descubre que su padre ha muerto y tras el entierro, al ver lo que significaba para su amigo, Barney decide reemprender la búsqueda de su padre (John Lithgow), al que finalmente identifica y aunque su relación inicial no es bu ena, consiguen salir adelante. Tras la muerte de su padre, Marshall decide pasar unos días en casa de su madre, por lo que se comunica con sus amigos vía telefónica. En estas conversaciones, descubre que Ted está enamorado de Zoey y que ella también corresponde a su amigo. Zoey se divorcia del Capitán, pero por una serie de malent endidos ellos dos no dicen que se quieren. Con una intervención telefónica de Marsha ll en el último momento, Ted y Zoey comienzan una relación. Barney comienza a sentir algo por una amiga de Robin, Nora, aunque inicialmente se niega a aceptar sus s entimientos. El Arcadian se interpone entre Ted y Zoey, que rompen abruptamente. Barney se mu estra dispuesto a iniciar una relación con Nora y Robin se da cuenta de que sigue enamorada de él. Lily finalmente consigue quedarse embarazada. En un flashback en el capítulo final se avanza hasta el día de la boda con la que comenzó el primer capítul o de la 7ª temporada: la boda de Barney. Słowa kluczowe: onomastyka, onimizacja, apelatywizacja, humor nazw własnych, seriale telewizyjne Key words: onomastics, onymization, appellativization, humorous proper names, TV series Introducing the recipient to amusing fictional worlds where there is always a lot going on, situation comedy may be said to have taken (at least to some extent) the place which once belonged to the realm of books. However, little research has been conducted on the linguistic, and especially onomastic, stratum of those programmes. Therefore, this study will concentrate on the anthroponymic material in How I Met Your Mother. Apart from their primary (identifying-differential function), the examined nomina propria serve a number of secondary functions, such as for instance the semantic or intertextual functions, and thus require a more detailed study. Nevertheless, in this work only some realizations of one of the functions – the humorous function – will be presented and examined. The main aim of this article will therefore be to demonstrate that the processes of onymization and appellativization stand at the core of the emergence of incongruity which is the source of humour in the perception of some proper names in the discussed series.

MEATS is an exploration of the ethics of meat-eating and the fears inherent with becoming a parent. In the short film, Williams plays Lane, who has hired a whole-animal butcher named Chris (played by real-life master butcher Giancarlo Sbarbaro), to educate her on how to responsibly break down a lamb and use every part. Upon arrival, Lane is simultaneously disgusted and mesmerized by the carcass in front of her. As Lane liberates the meat from the bone, she also frees a whole new side of herself, revealing humor, pain, connection, and a newfound mother-to-be. CounterNarrative Films presents MEATS.     THE RURAL QUEER EXPERIENCE IN TWENTIETH-CENTURY AMERICAN FICTION by Eric Hughes A Dissertation Submitted in Partial Fulfillment of the Requirements for the Degree of Doctor of Philosophy in English Middle Tennessee State University May 2021 Dissertation Committee: Dr. Will Brantley, Chair Dr. Allen Hibbard Dr. Mischa Renfroe ABSTRACT A common view of nonurban areas in the United States posits that rural communities and small towns are hegemonically heterosexual and gender conforming or inherently inhospitable to queer individuals. Queer studies have often reaffirmed these commonly held beliefs, as evident in a text such as David M. Halperin’s How to Be Gay (2012). With Kath Weston’s seminal “Get Thee to a Big City” (1995), a few commentators began to question this urban bias, or what J. Jack Halberstam labels “metronormativity.” Literary studies, however, have been late to take the “rural turn.” This dissertation thus examines the ways in which American writers from across the century and in diverse geographical areas have resisted queer urbanism through engagements with the urban/rural dichotomy. Chapter one focuses on Willa Cather and Sherwood Anderson, detailing Cather’s portrayal of queer cosmopolitanism and urbanity in short stories from The Troll Garden (1905), and pairing Cather’s A Lost Lady (1923) with Anderson’s Poor White (1920) to show how these writers challenged sexual norms in the modernizing Midwest. Chapter two examines Carson McCullers’s The Ballad of the Sad Café (1943) and The Member of the Wedding (1946) along with Truman Capote’s Other Voices, Other Rooms (1948) and The Grass Harp (1951), centering on representations of gender and sexual nonconformity in small southern towns.

Shirley Tucson, Arizona Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, Bachelor of Arts in Italian Studies University of Arizona, 2013 A Thesis presented to the Graduate Faculty of the University of Virginia in Candidacy for the Degree of Master of Arts Department of Spanish, Italian, and Portuguese University of Virginia May 2015 Readers: Enrico Cesaretti Sarah Annunziato 2 Jacob J Shirley Masters Thesis The Lost Boys of Italia: Peter Pan Syndrome in Calvino’s Males ABSTRACT This paper will explore the concepts of scioltezza and the Peter Pan Syndrome as exhibited by the male protagonists in three of Italo Calvino’s key works: Pin (The Path to the Spiders’ Nests), Cosimo Piovasco di Rondò (The Baron in the Trees), and Marcovaldo (Marcovaldo). In each case, scioltezza describes the protagonist’s developmental fluidity as he approaches maturation but retains fundamentally adolescent or childlike qualities. This study will take a developmental approach to reveal elements of war, family values, and economic factors that contribute to Calvino’s portrayal of scioltezza, setting up similar yet contrasting cases of the Peter Pan Syndrome. These factors ultimately confine each protagonist to a state of arrested maturation, in which he faces an identity crisis that prevents him from reaching identity achievement or total self- authorship. In these specific cases, we will also see how the text itself mirrors these developmental crises, and how some of Italy’s pivotal moments in history have shaped this phenomenon. Ultimately, these characters and texts reflect a similar developmental plight in Italy itself.
