04 Given Singapore’s dense population and the estimated increase to 6+ million by 2030, Scheeren proposed a concept that took the density a tower offers and turned it horizontal. By stacking these “blocks” in a hexagonal system, more surface area is created for landscape and rooftop gardens.

05 The vertical transitions between buildings have circular “mega- columns” optimized for the hexigo- nal confi guration. These enable 3-way rotation of the blocks and provide a standard solution for all conditions.

06 By stacking apartments, the design generates multiple horizontal surfaces that increases the green area of the site by 112 percent. Not only does this create a sense of the project immersed with nature, but emmbedded within it.

Bodies of water are strategically placed to allow evaporated cooling to occur along wind paths. This reduces local air temperatures and improves the thermal comfort of outdoor recreation spaces.
