She is a genuinely great writer who is refreshing to read in our current times. She plans and carries out the stories so well with beautiful prose. I have to read her and some like her every once in awhile to remember what beautiful American literature is.And not being familiar with that part of the West , it was very educational to me to learn again about the geography and the peoples of that area. I thoroughly enjoyed them and hated for the trilogy to end.1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. MasterpiecesBy Oklahoma ExplorerI had read all of these books about 50 years ago and thought them American Masterpieces. I still do on the reread. My favorite is still " Death Comes for the Archbishop." Willa Cather paints word pictures with her writing and gives a true feeling of time and place. Don't try to read all the books at once. They are very long.1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. My Antonia a gem.By Kindle CustomerBeautiful stories of life on the prairie in the early 20th Century. My Antonia is a gem! It celebrates the lasting effects of our childhood friendships, and warm memories of home. I lost interest in the middle story once "the Lark " left her hometown and wandered far afield. This was my first encounter with Willa Cather, and I would willingly read more
