Since this publication is a summary, the NATIONAL POTATO & ONION REPORT should be consulted for further details on market conditions on any given day or time period. Phone orders at 208-525-0166 are also accepted. Starting with 2002 crop, all potato prices have been reported are on a per unit basis, not the historical per hundredweioht basis. Prices represent open (spot) market sales by first handlers on product of generally good quality and condition unless otherwise stated. Prices may include promotional allowances and other incentives. No consideration is given to after-sales adjustments unless otherwise stated. Brokerage fees paid by the shipper are included in the price reported. The first phase of a new Fruit & Vegetable Market News Portal was released in May 2005. The website address is www.marketnews.com. The MN portal allows public users to query the Market News database and customize their request for historical and current price and supply information. For 90 years, the Market News Service has provided current, unbiased price and sales information to assist in the orderiy marketing and distribution of farm commodities. Reports include information on prices, volume, quality, condition, and other market data on farm products in specific markets and marketing areas. Reports cover both domestic and international markets. The data is disseminated within hours of collection via the Internet and made available through electronic means, in printed reports, by telephone recordings and through the news media. The Idaho Falls, ID, office reports prices and shipments from Idaho, Arizona, California, Colorado, Minnesota, North Dakota, Texas & Wisconsin and shipments only from Kansas, Nebraska, Nevada and New Mexico.
