Course: Introduction to Oil Painting

Required Supplies:

Paints, 37 ml tubes

• Alizarin crimson • Yellow ochre • Cadmium red light hue • Viridian green • Cobalt blue • Olive green • Ultramarine blue • Cerulean blue • Cadmium yellow light • Large tube of Titanium white

Brushes

• #'s 1, 2, 4, 6 in either "Flats" or "Filberts" • #4 round brush • 1" blade palette knife

Canvases, either canvas panels or stretched canvases

• One 6" x 8” and three or four others from the sizes of 8" x 10" , 9" x 12" , and 12" x 16" **the smaller the work, the quicker we can solve painting problems. (If you are experienced, please feel free to work larger)

Misc. • Gamsol odorless mineral spirits • Sketch book (8" x 10" or smaller) • 2 jars with lids • Sm. Masters brush cleaner • Table top easel • Kneaded eraser • Paper palette (9" x 12") • 4B and 4H pencil • Paper towels and a bag for waste • Masking tape

• Your own photo references to work from for starting points

• Newspapers or something to use as a drop cloth.
