Koh-I-Noor Polycolor Comparison Addendum is addendum chart was created to help colorists with older (and newer) Polycolor sets chart their pencils. Koh-I-Noor has had many di erent sets available over the years (12, 24, 36, 48, and 72) plus a few di erent themed collections such as the 24 landscape set and portrait sets. To help alleviate some confusion, this chart contains all of the colors including several that have since been discontinued. Colors marked with ** were included in the original set of 72 colors, but are not included the set of 144 newer colors (discontinued). Also, several color names have changed, so both (where applicable) are indicated in the chart: new color name / old color name. 558 Fire Orange 650 Fig Purple 126 Persian Orange / Dark Orange 131 French Pink / Pink 5 Reddish Orange / Orange 653 Mexican Pink 1 Titanium White / White 350 Portrait Peach 353 Amaranth Pink 500 Ivory Bone 559 Portland Orange 651 Orchid Purple 2 Light Yellow ** 560 Dark Salmon Orange 177 Lilac Violet / Light Violet 501 Pollen Yellow 6 Vermilion Red / Red 655 Byzantium Purple 41 Banana Yellow / Cream 48 Carmine Red ** 178 Reddish Violet / Red Violet 3 Chrome Yellow / Yellow 600 Light Scarlet Red 654 Dark Reddish Violet 4 Dark Yellow ** 601 Scarlet Red (was 47) 182 Dark Violet / Delft Blue 502 Lime Yellow 170 Pyrrole Red / Carmine 180 Dark Lavender Violet / Windsor 503 Chartreuse Yellow 604 Coral Red 13 Lavender Violet / Violet 504 Lemon Yellow 610 Light Carmine Red 179 Bluish Violet / Permanent Violet 43 Canary Yellow ** 609 Antique Rose 181 Windsor Violet / Blue Violet 9 Beige ** 351 Light Portrait Pink 700 Midnight Blue 555 Papaya Orange 352 Blush Pink 17 Cobalt Blue 556 Amber Orange 354 Salmon Pink 57 Mountain Blue 557 Tangerine Orange 355 Peach Orange 704 Navy Blue 67 Cadmium Orange ** 608 Light French Pink 54 Cobalt Dark Blue / Cobalt Dark 550 Fair Portrait Gold 607 Punch Pink 19 Sapphire Blue / Dark Blue 551 Portrait Fair 605 Burgundy Red 701 Dark Azure Blue 552 Portrait Light 8 Bordeaux Red 702 Azure Blue 553 Portrait Sand 132 Carmine Red / Cherry Red 16 Cerulean Blue / Sky Blue 554 Portrait Honey 602 Currant Red 53 Phthalo Blue 357 Apricot Orange 603 Wine Red 55 Permanent Blue 45 Light Orange 212 Caput Mortuum 56 Indigo Blue 42 Chromium Orange / Orange Yellow 606 Dark Vermilion Red 20 Prussian Blue 22 Yellowish Green / Bice Green 802 Dark Yellow Ochre 62 Apple Green 29 Light Ochre / Dark Ochre 776 Celadon Green 34 Light Bluish Grey / Bluish Grey 703 Dark Cerulean Blue 59 Grass Green / Grass Green Dark 69 Light Grey ** 15 Ice Blue 63 Light Olive Green / Olive Light Green 35 Grey ** 705 Sea Blue 27 Dark Olive Green 72 Slate Grey 52 Dark Ice Blue / Azure Blue 214 Dark Earth Brown 71 Medium Grey 18 Light Blue 33 Dark Brown 451 Warm Grey 1 731 Dark Teal Blue 68 Burnt Umber 452 Warm Grey 2 732 Teal Blue 32 Natural Sienna / Brown 453 Warm Grey 3 750 Royal Teal 820 Hazelnut Brown 455 Warm Grey 5 751 Teal Green 822 Cafe Noir Brown 456 Warm Grey 6 21 Bluish Green / Blue Green 821 Almond Brown 458 Warm Grey 8 752 Medium Turquoise 31 Light Brown 38 Cold Grey ** 770 Persian Green 823 Sandstone Brown 70 Dark Grey ** 771 Jade Green 825 Burnt Sienna 401 Cool Grey 1 772 Deep Green 65 Medium Terracotta / Terracotta 403 Cool Grey 3 26 Dark Green 30 Reddish Brown / Indian Red 405 Cool Grey 5 60 Emerald Green 824 Cinnamon Brown 406 Cool Grey 6 773 Light Emerald Green 64 Burnt Ochre 408 Cool Grey 8 774 Light Jade Green 804 Brown Ochre 409 Cool Grey 9 24 Pea Green 66 Raw Umber 36 Ivory Black / Black 775 Avocado Green 44 Naples Yellow 75 Standard Bronze 61 Sap Green 803 Yellow Brown Ochre 39 Standard Silver / Silver 25 Meadow Green / Grass Green 800 Dark Gold Ochre 40 Standard Gold / Gold 58 Light Green 28 Gold Ochre 23 Spring Green / May Green 801 Yellow Ochre .

Begonia ignita C.W.Lin & C.I Peng, a new species of Begonia sect. Petermannia from Sulawesi, Indonesia, is here described and illustrated. It is distinct from other species in Begonia section Petermannia by a character combination including a procumbent stem ascending only at the apex, symmetric or subsymmetric leaves, the presence of a pale band or maculation running parallel to the leaf margin, and orange tepals. A detailed comparison with a morphologically similar species, the Sulawesi endemic Begonia mendumiae M.Hughes, is provided. Keywords. Begonia ignita, B. mendumiae, Indonesia, new species, Sulawesi Introduction Forty-six species of Begonia are presently known from the Indonesian island of Sulawesi (Thomas et al., 2013), 22 of which have been described since 2006 (Hughes, 2006; Thomas & Hughes, 2008; Girmansyah et al., 2009; Thomas et al., 2009a, 2009b, 2011; Wiriadinata, 2013; Ardi et al., 2014). In addition, the examination of major herbarium collections (BO, E, L, K, SING) and specimen images from numerous additional herbaria provided by the Begonia Resource Centre (Hughes et al., 2015) indicates that there are many more species awaiting description.

Nature's Wonderful Colours Magdalena KonečnáMagdalena Sedláčková • Jana • Štěpánka Sekaninová Nature is teeming with incredible colours. But have you ever wondered how the colours green, yellow, pink or blue might taste or smell? What could they sound like? Or what would they feel like if you touched them? Nature’s colours are so wonderful ColoursIN NATURE and diverse they inspired people to use the names of plants, animals and minerals when labelling all the nuances. Join us on Magdalena Konečná • Jana Sedláčková • Štěpánka Sekaninová a journey to discover the twelve most well-known colours and their shades. You will learn that the colours and elements you find in nature are often closely connected. Will you be able to find all the links in each chapter? Last but not least, if you are an aspiring artist, take our course at the end of the book and you’ll be able to paint as exquisitely as nature itself does! COLOURS IN NATURE COLOURS albatrosmedia.eu b4u publishing Prelude Who painted the trees green? Well, Nature can do this and other magic. Nature abounds in colours of all shades. Long, long ago people began to name colours for plants, animals and minerals they saw them in, so as better to tell them apart. But as time passed, ever more plants, animals and minerals were discovered that reminded us of colours already named. So we started to use the names for shades we already knew to name these new natural elements. What are these names? Join us as we look at beautiful colour shades one by one – from snow white, through canary yellow, ruby red, forget-me-not blue and moss green to the blackest black, dark as the night sky.

Price 32 7 1 National Bureau of Standards NOV 1 1955 8 (0*118 QC 00 U555 Cop. 1 Preface I^Ever since the language of man began to develop, words or expressions have been used first to indicate and then to describe colors. Some of these have per- sisted throughout the centuries and are those which refer to the simple colors or ranges such as red or yellow. As the language developed, more and more color names were invented to describe the colors used by art and industry and in late years in the rapidly expanding field of sales promotion. Some of these refer to the pigment or dye used, as Ochre Red or Cochineal, or a geographical location of its source such as Naples Yellow or Byzantium. Later when it became clear that most colors are bought by or for women, many color names indicative of the beauties and wiles of the fan- sex were introduced, as French Nude, Heart’s Desire, Intimate Mood, or Vamp. Fanciful color names came into vogue such as Dream Fluff, Happy Day, Pearly Gates, and Wafted Feather. Do not suppose that these names are without economic importance for a dark reddish gray hat for Milady might be a best seller ; if advertised as Mauve Wine whereas it probably would not if the color were called Paris Mud.
