The endless nuances of color in oil paint are nothing short of magic. Rich, creamy, buttery oil paints, beautiful in their pure form, are sometimes even more gorgeous when mixed with each other. The options are never-ending—whether your goal is to achieve bright, brilliant color or soft, subtle color, or anything in between, beginning with the basics is best. MANGANESE BLUE HUE—Winsor & Newton—This cool blue is is a clear greenish colour, great for skys and fun pops of unexpected color.

FRENCH ULTRAMARINE—Winsor & Newton—a rich transparent blue.

VIOLET GREY—Old Holland—a gorgeous warm grey, mixes well with other colors and softens them.

VIDEO BLUE EXTRA PALE—Vasari—a delicate , cool, and vibrant, it is useful as an opaque bluish white that’s also colorful enough for complementary mixing with warmer and oranges, and warmer earths.

RADIANT TURQUOISE—Gamblin—This tint is made from modern organic and cools-down colors without darkening them. This can also neutralize colors into more nuanced mixtures.

TITANIUM WHITE—Gamblin—Strongest, most brilliant white. It has excellent hiding power, with twice the opacity of pure lead white. the magic of color
