MATERIALS LIST 1. Color Pencils. You may buy a 12 or 24 set of any brand. I recommend Prismacolor Verithin Pencils and / or Prismacolor Col-Erase Pencils. Verithin are finer. Col-Erase are thicker and chalkier. The warm and cool names vary depending on the brand you buy. Please chose one hue that is “warmer” ie, “more Yellow.” And the same hue that is “cooler” ie. “more Blue”. Its best to buy those colors in the store if you have that possibility. 2. In order to expand the depth and range of your color palette; As a start, It is a good idea to buy two temperatures {warm and cool} of each primary and secondary color. For example: 3. 2 yellows: Cad yellow and Lemon / Canary yellow and Goldenrod 4. 2 reds : Napthol Crimson and Cadmium Red / Magenta and Process Red 5. 2 blues : Ultramarine and Cerulean / Indigo and Peacock Blue 6. 2 greens, True Green and Olive Green 7. 2 violets, Violet and Dahlia Purple 8. 2 oranges, Orange and Pale Vermillion 9. and black, gray, and Tuscan red, burnt sienna.

10. Graphite Range and Ebony Pencil. 6H, 4H, HB, 2B, 3B, 6B.

12. Erasers. Gray Kneaded Rubber eraser and White Rubber Mars-Staetdler or Factis Brand. Measures 2-1/4" × 15/16" × 1/2" (57 mm × 24 mm × 13 mm). Comes in a cardboard sleeve.

Papers. - Sketchbook any size portable and comfortable for thumbnail / compositional studies / notes. - Arches White: 2 Sheets of Arches 88 Smooth or Arches Cover, Hot Press, 130 lb. 22” x 30” - Fabriano White Hot Press, 1 Sheet any size - Arches Black: 1 to 2 Sheets, 130 lb. 22” x 30” - Mi-Tienes Sample Pack of Various Values of Gray, Warm, Cool Pastel Colored Papers - Glassine Paper or Trace Paper roll to protect drawings.
