Suomen Maanilviäisten Lajiluettelo Päivitys 21.5.2019 Maanilviäisten lajiluettelo - nilviäistyöryhmä 2019 Suomen maanilviäisten lajiluettelo päivitys 21.5.2019 Seuraavassa lajiluettelo listaa kaikki vuoteen 2019 mennessä Suomessa tavatut maanilviäislajit joita on 95. Kerney & Cameron, Land Snails of Britain & North-West Europe) sekä vanhoissa nilviäisnäytteissä Luonnontieteellisen keskusmuseon nilviäiskokoelmissa. Listassa käytetty luokittelu perustuu Bouchet & Rocroin vuonna 2005 julkaisemaan uuteen kotiloiden luokitteluun. Lajien uhanalaisuusluokka vuoden 2019 arvioinnissa on merkitty taulukossa lajinimen ja heimon oikealle puolelle. Bouchet, P. & Rocroi, J.-P. Abh. 287/1 (2018), 17–44 Article E Stuttgart, January 2018 Miocene continental gastropods from the southern margin of the Swabian Alb (Baden-Württemberg, SW Germany) Olaf Höltke, Rodrigo B. Salvador, and Michael W. Rasser With 6 figures Abstract: The Middle Miocene silvana-beds outcropping at the southern margin of the Swabian Alb bear a wide array of terrestrial and freshwater gastropods. Especially in the surroundings of the Emerberg and Tautschbuch hills, there are records of several collection sites. In the present work, we investigated material from the historical localities from these two regions, housed in museum collec- tions, in order to provide an updated check list, synthesizing the knowledge of the region in the hopes to spur renewed interest. In total, we report 14 freshwater and 50 land snail species from the area, but not all species reported in the literature could be confirmed. SEEKING CRITERIA FOR BIODIVERSITY ROOFS UNDER FINNISH CONDITIONS WENFEI LIAO UNIVERSITY OF HELSINKI Department of Environmental Sciences Master’s Degree Programme in Environmental Ecology MASTER’S THESIS Octorber 2016 Tiedekunta/Osasto – Fakultet/Sektion – Faculty Laitos – Institution – Department Faculty of Biological and Environmental Sciences Department of Environmental Sciences Tekijä – Författare – Author Wenfei Liao Työn nimi – Arbetets titel – Title Seeking criteria for biodiversity roofs under Finnish conditions Oppiaine – Läroämne – Subject Social aspect of urban ecology Työn laji – Arbetets art – Level Aika – Datum – Month, year Sivumäärä – Sidoantal – Number of pages Master’s thesis October, 2016 76 + Appendices Tiivistelmä – Referat – Abstract Urbanisation has caused many environmental problems, such as air pollution and the loss of biodiversity. One way to mitigate these problems is to expand green spaces. Roofs, as the last frontier, could be made full use of. Green roofs have become a hot topic in recent years. In this study, I investigated the ability of green roofs to support urban biodiversity by conducting a literature review, and then I sought the criteria for biodiversity roofs under Finnish conditions by interviewing ecologists. My research questions in this study were 1) What kinds of habitats could be “ideal ecosystems” to be mimicked on biodiversity roofs in Finland; 2) which plant species could exist on roofs and whether they contribute to biodiversity; 3) what kinds of substrates support the biodiversity on roofs; 4) whether green roofs support faunal diversity and what faunal taxa could exist on roofs; 5) if and how roof structural characteristics influence roof biodiversity; 6) what kinds of management are practiced on biodiversity roofs; 7) what are people’s attitudes towards or perceptions of biodiversity roofs in general.

The Slugs of Britain and Ireland: Undetected and Undescribed Species Increase a Well-Studied, Economically Important Fauna by More Than 20% Ben Rowson1*, Roy Anderson2, James A. Turner1, William O. C. Symondson3 1 National Museum of Wales, Cardiff, Wales, United Kingdom, 2 Conchological Society of Great Britain & Ireland, Belfast, Northern Ireland, United Kingdom, 3 Cardiff School of Biosciences, Cardiff University, Cardiff, Wales, United Kingdom Abstract The slugs of Britain and Ireland form a well-studied fauna of economic importance. They include many widespread European species that are introduced elsewhere (at least half of the 36 currently recorded British species are established in North America, for example). To test the contention that the British and Irish fauna consists of 36 species, and to verify the identity of each, a species delimitation study was conducted based on a geographically wide survey. Comparisons between mitochondrial DNA (COI, 16S), nuclear DNA (ITS-1) and morphology were investigated with reference to interspecific hybridisation. Species delimitation of the fauna produced a primary species hypothesis of 47 putative species. This was refined to a secondary species hypothesis of 44 species by integration with morphological and other data. Thirty six of these correspond to the known fauna (two species in Arion subgenus Carinarion were scarcely distinct and Arion (Mesarion) subfuscus consisted of two near-cryptic species). However, by the same criteria a further eight previously undetected species (22% of the fauna) are established in Britain and/or Ireland. Although overlooked, none are strictly morphologically cryptic, and some appear previously undescribed. Most of the additional species are probably accidentally introduced, and several are already widespread in Britain and Ireland (and thus perhaps elsewhere).

All previously known Bulgarian slugs from the Arionidae, Milacidae, Limacidae and Agriolimacidae families have been discussed in this paper. It is based on many years of individual field research, examination of all accessible private and museum collections as well as on critical analysis of the published data. The taxa from families to species are sup plied with synonymy, descriptions of external morphology, anatomy, bionomics, distribution and all records from Bulgaria. It also includes the original key to all species. The illustrative material comprises 118 drawings, including 116 made by the author, and maps of localities on UTM grid. The occurrence of 37 slug species was ascertained, including 1 species (Tandonia pirinia- na) which is quite new for scientists. The occurrence of other 4 species known from publications could not bo established. Basing on the variety of slug fauna two zoogeographical limits were indicated. One separating the Stara Pianina Mountains from south-western massifs (Pirin, Rila, Rodopi, Vitosha. Mountains), the other running across the range of Stara Pianina in the^area of Shipka pass. INTRODUCTION Like other Balkan countries, Bulgaria is an area of Palearctic especially interesting in respect to malacofauna. So far little investigation has been carried out on molluscs of that country and very few papers on slugs (mostly contributions) were published. The papers by B a b o r (1898) and J u r in ić (1906) are the oldest ones.

  • Terrestrial Mollusks of Attu, Aleutian Islands, Alaska BARRY ROTH’ and DAVID R
ARCTK: VOL. 34, NO. 1 (MARCH 1981), P. 43-47 Terrestrial Mollusks of Attu, Aleutian Islands, Alaska BARRY ROTH’ and DAVID R. LINDBERG’ ABSTRACT. Seven species of land mollusk (2 slugs, 5 snails) were collected on Attu in July 1979. Three are circumboreal species, two are amphi-arctic (Palearctic and Nearctic but not circumboreal), and two are Nearctic. Barring chance survival of mollusks in local refugia, the fauna was assembled overwater since deglaciation, perhaps within the last 10 OOO years. Mollusk faunas from Kamchatka to southeastern Alaska all have a Holarctic component. A Palearctic component present on Kamchatka and the Commander Islands is absent from the Aleutians, which have a Nearctic component that diminishes westward. This pattern is similar to that of other soil-dwelling invertebrate groups.

  • Terrestrial Snails in Flood Deposits of the Beskid Mały Range (Carpathians, Southern Poland)
Folia Malacol. 27(4): 293–306 https://doi.org/10.12657/folmal.027.026 TERRESTRIAL SNAILS IN FLOOD DEPOSITS OF THE BESKID MAŁY RANGE (CARPATHIANS, SOUTHERN POLAND) Witold PaWeł alexandroWicz Chair of General Geology and Geotourism, Faculty of Geology, Geophysics and Environment Protection, AGH University of Science and Technology, al. Mickiewicza 30, 30-059 Cracow, Poland (e-mail: [email protected]); https://orcid.org/0000-0002-5403-6696 abstract: Long-term research on the malacofauna of the Beskid Mały, one of the ranges of the Western Beskidy Mts, was based on flood deposits of the streams cutting through the massif. Samples from limestone areas (called Andrychów Klippes) and those from the Żurawnica massif complemented the material. The total of ca. 400 samples yielded 78 species of terrestrial snails. The malacofauna was characterised in terms of its ecological and zoogeographical composition. The material provided the basis for determining the zones of occurrence and distribution of the component taxa within the Beskid Mały range. The ecological, zoogeographical and species diversity of the assemblages made it possible to distinguish four types of fauna, each connected with certain parts of the Beskid Mały range, which differ in their geological structure, relief and the degree of anthropogenic transformations. Key Words: terrestrial snails, biodiversity, Beskid Mały, Carpathians, southern Poland INTRODUCTION Research on the malacofauna of the Polish floodplains during high water levels.
