Medical Library Resources and Services

Swipe Card Access 24/7 for all , APNs, residents, and students. All other badge holders can request 24/7 access from the Medical Library staff.

Follow signage throughout the Ground Floor; we are steps away from the Main Information Desk.

The public can use the library, our computers, and request information on health topics.

Free Database Classes

Learn how to find the medical and nursing books and articles that you need through the Medical Library from either a hospital or a non-hospital computer. Classes are customized to your needs and your schedule.

EBSCOhost Class – For nursing, medical and general information EBSCOhost offers the CINAHL (Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health Literature) database and other nursing, health business, and consumer health databases. In addition, there are other databases with articles on various subjects, including many helpful to younger students.

Medical Library Overview Class – For medical and nursing information Learn how to use the Medical Library and how to find the books and articles you need online and in print and what to do if we don’t have a particular book or article. We can tailor this introduction to you and your schedule. If you are affiliated with Rutgers University, we can show you how to access their library’s electronic resources, and give you an overview of their website.

Ovid Class – For medical and nursing information Ovid provides access to MEDLINE and several Evidence Based Medicine databases. MEDLINE is a database offered by the U.S. of Medicine that includes over 24 million citations for biomedical articles dating back to the 1940s (and even some back to the 1800s!) and also includes a subset of nursing journals.
