This interest in photography was also sustained through his very good friend the late Tony Azzopardi, iż- Żiffa, who was also a member of our Society. Though over the years Anthony has witnessed significant changes in photography he has managed to keep abreast with the latest trends. About four years ago he joined the Malta Photographic Society to have the Member Profile opportunity of sharing his hobby with other photographers and of Anthony Rizzo learning more about photography. compiled by Anthony Blackman There he followed the Starting Photography Course and the Photoshop for Beginners Course. He finds the lectures, the judging sessions, seminars, mentoring, photo walks very helpful, but most of all, he likes the atmosphere of friendship at the Society. On the down side he would like to see some improvement in the club’s website. Anthony regularly participates in local photographic competitions and looks forward to submit more works for international photographic exhibitions. In fact he had a couple of acceptances in the recently held Malta International Exhibitions. For his photography he uses a Nikon D300S camera equipped George

It has the ability to arrest that fleeting moment when one captures a smile, a tear, an event or occasion, or that breath-taking landscape, which one can cherish forever. His preferred photographic subjects are landscape, portraiture and grab-shots. He is inspired and likes to experiment with various photographic styles and techniques; currently he is in a “Black and White” phase.

Besides photography Anthony is also interested in Formula 1 racing, in particular the Ferrari racing team. Anthony is married to Mary Grace and has two sons Franco and Sandro.

Equal Partners Foundation Experience

by Jane Farrugia

n two separate occasions, three members from the Executive Committee O of the MPS shared their photographic experiences with children and adults attending the Teen Club-Summer 2012 Activities, organised by the Equal Partners Foundation. This is a parent-run, non profit foundation, supporting children and adults with disabilities and learning difficulties. On the 26th of July 2012, Jane Farrugia and Pauline Grech shared their travel and sports projected images. A week later, the children and their helpers had a practical photo shoot with Louis Agius. Both sessions were enjoyed by all present and the MPS members had a wonderful experience. The Executive Committee would like to thank the Equal Partners Foundation for including the Society in their activities and hope that there will be other opportunities for our members to do their share at the Equal Partners Foundation Centre at Msida.
