Public Transport Services Add signages at a bus stop at Cheung Wing Road to facilitate passengers queuing. II. Traffic Management Hong Kong Island Extend 24-hour “No Stopping” restriction at Queen’s Road Central near HSBC Main Building to prevent vehicle obstruction. Add signalised pedestrian crossings at Johnston Road at its junction with Fleming Road to improve road safety. Replace an “Ahead Only” traffic sign by a “No Left Turn” traffic sign at Hennessy Road westbound at its junction with Percival Street to remind motorists. Impose 24-hour “No Stopping” restriction at Shipyard Lane southbound near King’s Road to prevent vehicle obstruction. Kowloon Modify the mode of operation of traffic lights at Fung Mo Street at its junction with Heng Lam Street to facilitate pedestrians crossing the road. Add “Turn Left” and “Turn Right” road markings and a warning line at Carnarvon Road near Bristol Avenue to enhance road safety. Add “Pedestrian accident blackspot ahead” traffic signs at the junction of Nathan Road and Argyle Street to give warning to pedestrians. Increase the vehicular green time of a traffic light at Jat’s Incline at its junction with Clear Water Bay Road during daytime to improve traffic flow. - 1 - New Territories Increase the vehicular green time of a traffic light at Po Wan Road eastbound at its junction with Po Shek Wu Road during daytime to alleviate traffic congestion. Citybus and NWFB to Enhance 15 Hong Kong Island Routes （27 May 2004, Hong Kong）Citybus and New World First Bus (NWFB) will implement a major service enhancement plan for 15 Hong Kong Island routes next Monday (31 May). Several Bus-Bus Interchange (BBI) schemes for both Citybus and NWFB routes will be introduced. The key points of the service enhancement plan are as follow: y Citybus Route 5P, a morning express service running from Kennedy Town to Wan Chai, will continue to operate from 31 May onwards. y Introduce a morning express service, called Citybus Route 780P, which runs from Chai Wan (Hing Wah Estate) to Central Ferry Piers. y Citybus Route 789 will operate on an all-day basis, and with the terminus relocated to Admiralty’s Rodney Street. Siu Sai Wan-bound services on Route 789 will be rerouted to run via Hennessy Road, Fleming Road, Wanchai Road and Canal Road West. It will no longer run via Gloucester Road and Wan Chai Ferry Pier. y NWFB will provide an all-day service on Route 18P, running between Kennedy Town (Belcher Bay) and North Point Ferry Pier. y The terminus for Citybus Route 8X will be relocated from Admiralty (Rodney Street) to Happy Valley (Lower). Passengers on Route 8X can interchange to and from NWFB Route 23 for connection to the Mid-Levels or the Eastern District. Hong Kong’s First Creative Tourism Project by Design District Hong Kong Introduces Free Storytelling Guided Tours The project aims to lead residents and tourists to explore local history and designs in Wan Chai *From now until late June* Design District Hong Kong (#ddHK), a three-year Creative Tourism Project from 2018/2019-2020/21, officially launched and revealed six brand new “#ddPlace” ideas in Wan Chai district last month. Recently, #ddHK has introduced four guided tours with various themes for Hong Kong residents and tourists to participate, allowing them to experience and explore the local community, history and a few highlighted #ddHK designs from different angles. The guided tours are open to public registration for free starting from now until 22 June 2019, with a total of 18 tours available in Cantonese, English and Mandarin. In partnership with HKwalls, “#ddPaintHKWALLS”, one of the six thematic #ddPlace activations have been introduced to the Wan Chai community. Over 30 murals created by highly acclaimed local and international artists have been completed and presented on the walls of public and private buildings in the district. The activation has further reinforced #ddHK’s vision to position Wan Chai as an “open-air design district gallery” by bringing arts and designs to the community. With over 50 designs and artworks being created in different areas in Wan Chai, #ddHK inspires Hong Kongers and tourists to discover a different part of Hong Kong whilst appreciating creative design collaborations with deep-rooted connections to the community, as well as encouraging multi- functional use of public spaces through a series of artistic design forms.
