The daily patronage of the routes drops over 34% and 30% respectively, and the average occupancy remains low. Appendix 4 (Page 2 of 8) The Proposal To better utilise resources and to cope with actual passenger demand, it is proposed to reorganise route nos. 40 and 40M as follows: Route no. 40M To relocate the current terminating point in Admiralty from Admiralty (Government Headquarters) to Wan Chai North Temporary Public Transport Interchange. To divert both bound journeys via Chi Fu Road. Departures to Wah Fu (North) will begin their journey from Wan Chai North Temporary Public Transport Interchange and travel via Cotton Tree Drive and Caine Road after Hennessy Road and Queensway in lieu of Queen’s Road Central, D’Aguilar Street and Lyndhurst Terrace to avoid congestion in Central. Route No. 40M Terminating Wah Fu (North) – Wan Chai North Temporary Public Transport Interchange Points Routeing From Wah Fu (North): via Wah Fu Road, Shek Pai Wan Road, Pok Fu Lam Road, flyover, Chi Fu Road, Claymore Avenue, flyover, Pok Fu Lam Road, flyover, Bonham Road, Caine Road, Upper Albert Road, Garden Road, Queen's Road Central, *(Des Voeux Road Central, Ice House Street, Chater Road, Murray Road), Queensway, Hennessy Road, Fleming Road, flyover Fleming Road, Convention Avenue and Hung Hing Road. *Departures from Wah Fu (North) are diverted via Queen's Road Central, Pedder Street, Connaught Road Central, Harcourt Road and Cotton Tree Drive slip road on Sundays and public holidays. To relocate the terminating point from Wan Chai North Temporary Public Transport Interchange to Fleming Road, Wan Chai outside Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. Service hours will be adjusted to 6.00 a.m. to 9.00 p.m. daily. Passengers travelling from Wan Chai and Admiralty to the Mid-levels, Pok Fu Lam Road, Chi Fu and Wah Fu may choose the re-organised route no. 40M.     TRANSPORT DEPARTMENT NOTICE Temporary Traffic and Transport Arrangements on Queensway, Admiralty Notice is hereby given that the following traffic and transport arrangements will be implemented in connection with the public event to be held in Queensway from about 7.30 pm on 21 June 2019 onwards until the crowd is dispersed and road closure is lifted: A. Road Closure Queensway (eastbound and westbound) including tramway will be temporarily closed to all vehicular traffic. B.     Citybus and NWFB to Enhance 15 Hong Kong Island Routes (27 May 2004, Hong Kong)Citybus and New World First Bus (NWFB) will implement a major service enhancement plan for 15 Hong Kong Island routes next Monday (31 May). Several Bus-Bus Interchange (BBI) schemes for both Citybus and NWFB routes will be introduced. The key points of the service enhancement plan are as follow: y Citybus Route 5P, a morning express service running from Kennedy Town to Wan Chai, will continue to operate from 31 May onwards. y Introduce a morning express service, called Citybus Route 780P, which runs from Chai Wan (Hing Wah Estate) to Central Ferry Piers. y Citybus Route 789 will operate on an all-day basis, and with the terminus relocated to Admiralty’s Rodney Street. Siu Sai Wan-bound services on Route 789 will be rerouted to run via Hennessy Road, Fleming Road, Wanchai Road and Canal Road West. It will no longer run via Gloucester Road and Wan Chai Ferry Pier. y NWFB will provide an all-day service on Route 18P, running between Kennedy Town (Belcher Bay) and North Point Ferry Pier. y The terminus for Citybus Route 8X will be relocated from Admiralty (Rodney Street) to Happy Valley (Lower). Passengers on Route 8X can interchange to and from NWFB Route 23 for connection to the Mid-Levels or the Eastern District. Passengers using the same Octopus card can enjoy a BBI fare concession up to $4.50 on the second leg of the journey. y Route 1 and 5A will merge, and run between Kennedy Town (Belcher Bay) and Page 1 of 5 Happy Valley (Upper).
