This move prompted the London Assembly’s Culture, Sport and Tourism committee to look into the issue of redevelopment for London clubs. With Fulham and Brentford yet to secure new stadiums for their clubs and question marks remaining over Arsenal’s and Tottenham’s grounds the issue is a live one. We do not want to see more clubs leave London. During the 2002/03 season about 5 million fans watched professional football in London. In addition, hundreds of thousands of Londoners participate every year in club sponsored community projects and play football. This report seeks to ensure that this added value isn’t lost to Londoners. We did not set out to judge local situations but to tease out lessons learnt by London football clubs. Football is more than just a business: the ties that a club has with its area and the fans that live or come from there are great. We recommend that more clubs have supporters on their board and applaud the work of Supporters Direct in rejuvenating the links between clubs and their fan base.

This is a challenging and exciting project, if delivered it would have national and international resonance. Recent years has seen London deliver new, creative, innovative and complex projects. A stadium project in Wimbledon will need to learn from successes in London and elsewhere.

If only climbing wasn't such a dangerous sport Luckily, Great Uncle Bulgaria always knows how best to rescue a Womble in need. This Womble story, full of colourful costumes, high-flying acrobatics and an amazing rescue, is perfect for today's younger readers. The Wombles is the first ever Wombles book and introduces the The Wombles Go Round the World but kindly Great Uncle Bulgaria; Orinoco, who is particularly fond of his food and a subsequent forty winks; general handyman extraordinaire Tobermory, who can turn almost anything that the Wombles retrieve from Wimbledon Common into something useful; Madame Cholet, who cooks the most delicious and natural foods to keep the Wombles happy and contented; and last but not least, Bungo, one of the youngest and cheekiest Wombles of all, who has much to learn and is due to venture out on to the Common on his own for the very first time. The Dons Trust Redacted minutes of board meeting held at 7.30pm on 10 December, 2018 The Cherry Red Records Stadium DTB members In attendance Colin Dipple Terry Langford (Secretariat) Cormac van der Hoeven Erik Samuelson (Club CEO) Jane Lonsdale Joe Palmer (Club COO) Matthew Breach (Vice Chair) Mark Davis (Chair) John Lynch (Wimbledon Dons Football Nigel Higgs History Society) Roger Evans David McKnight (Wimbledon Old Sean McLaughlin Players Association) Tim Hillyer Newly elected DTB members Anna Kingsley (from 9pm) Hannah Kitcher (Secretariat) Luke MacKenzie Rob Crane 1. Introduction and apologies Mark welcomed incoming DTB members Hannah Kitcher, Luke MacKenzie and Rob Crane as observers to the meeting and noted that the fourth newly elected member, Anna Kingsley, would be joining the meeting later in the evening. Mark also welcomed John Lynch and David McKnight, who were present for the first item of the agenda. Apologies were noted from Tom Brown (Secretary). 2. Wimbledon Football History Referring to the presentation that had been circulated in advance of the meeting, John Lynch recounted that there was a group of supporters – originally acting separately but now collaborating – who had spent time and money over the years assembling artefacts from the Club’s history. This collection was large enough to fill several garages. John wanted to see this collection brought together under one roof. The holders of the memorabilia were prepared to contribute their collections, provided the safety of the artefacts could be assured. John’s proposal was therefore to establish a charitable foundation (which would take around six months) and to assist the Club in the new stadium by using this memorabilia collection to underpin stadium tours, history tours and indeed to link to the wider local history of the Wandle.
