Her texts on contemporary art have appeared in books, art catalogues and magazines. She is a frequent contributor to international art journals such as e-flux journal, Tate Etc., Yishu: Journal of Contemporary Chinese Art, and Journal of Contemporary Chinese Art (JCCA). Other writings Lu has worked with or written in-depth profiles of Chinese and international artists and practitioners, including Josef Dabernig, Ai Weiwei, Dahn Vo, Roy Lichtenstein, Rasheed Araeen, Simon Fujiwara, Ding Yi, Hans Belting, Boris Groys, Copenhagen Free University, Anton Vidokle, Vadar Caivano, Qian Weikang, the New Measurement Group, Leung Chi Wo, Li Dafang, Zhang Enli, Zhang Peili, Wang Guangyi, Fang Lijun, Andy Hope 1930. Research-led curatorial practice Lu initiated, together with artist and curator Liu Ding, the research and exhibition project Little Movements: Self-practice in Contemporary Art, first presented in OCAT Shenzhen in 2010 and then Museion, Bolzano, Italy, 2013. Both exhibitions were attempts to portray the globalized art world by featuring the work of creative practitioners, from art historians, to curators, to institutional practitioners, from China and other parts of the world. 3 Since 2013, Lu and Liu have been working on a long-term research project “From the Issue of Art to the Issue of Position: Echoes of Socialist Realism”, a critical examination of the methodologies and perspectives in the narratives of contemporary art histories in China. Under her leadership, the institution collaborated with renowned artists and scholars from all over the world including Boris Groys, Hans Belting, Anselm Franke, Suzanne Lacy, Catherine Wood, Wang Hui, Lou Ye, If I Can’t Dance, Peter Pal Palbart, Zhao Chuan and Grass Stage, and Marko Daniel.
