A: No, it is okay to pick and choose the activities in which you wish to participate. Q: How do I participate in the events I have registered for? A: Printed event tickets will be used for most activities; they will be in your meet registration packet. Q: Do I have to register to participate in Saturday’s car show with my Lincoln? A: Yes, you must register yourself and any Lincolns you plan to show or have judged. You must be a registered member to participate. Q: Do I need to have a fire extinguisher with my Lincoln on the show field? A: Yes, a fire extinguisher is required and must be placed by the front left tire when on show field. Without a fire extinguisher the vehicle will be disqualified. Q: Do I have to register if I only want to walk in and view the cars on Saturday? A: No, registration is not necessary if you only plan to walk in and view the cars. Q: Can I park my trailer at the hotel? A: Yes, the hotel has a large parking area. Q: Can I wash my car at the hotel? A: Yes, a hose and bucket will be available at the host hotel for car washing. Please bring your own supplies. Q: What is my LCOC membership number and expiration date? A: Your LCOC membership number and expiration date is above your name on the address information on the back page of Continental Comments magazine. Q: Can I register online?     NYS Department of State safetyOFPC ALERT October NY STATE FIRE 2009 Ford Recalls 4.5 Million Additional Vehicles In Switch Recall Faulty Part Could Cause Fire; Largest Recall In Ford’s History Ford Motor Co. says it will add 4.5 million older-model vehicles to the list of those recalled because a defective cruise control switch could cause a fire. Ford says 1.1 million Ford Windstar minivans will be recalled for repairs due to a small risk of fires. The company says another 3.4 million Ford, Lincoln and Mercury vehicles with the same switches also will be recalled even though there have been no reports of fires. Those vehicles mainly are trucks and SUVs. All vehicles covered by the recall are from the 1992 to 2003 model years. This is Ford’s seventh recall due to the Texas Instruments speed control switches. The recalls cover a total of 14.3 million vehicles and combined are the largest in Ford’s history Summary of the Ford Fire Recalls Both the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and Ford Motor Co. have issued several recalls of millions of Ford, Lincoln and Mercury vehicles as a result of a defective cruise control switch that can lead to a spontaneous fire, even when the vehicle is turned off, parked and unattended. The most recent of this Ford cruise control recalls occurred on September 9, 2008, when the National Highway Traffic and Safety Administration re-recalled millions of Ford, Lincoln and Mercury SUV’s pickup trucks, vans and cars. Other Lincolns on display were William Clay Ford’s 1956 Continental Mark II convertible, several classic Lincolns from the twenties and thirties, and a 1956 Continental Mark II originally owned by Elizabeth Taylor. Originally the Western Region planned to have a special class as they did in 1995 but that plan was cancelled due to lack of participation. We are not sure how many, if any, Western Region members attended without cars. One Western Region mem- ber, Jim Ayres, did attend and took these photos. For the first time since its 75th Anniversary in 1995 Lincoln was one of the honored marques at the 63rd edition Left, of the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance “Bubbltop,” the third weekend of August. My beloved 1949 Lincoln Cosmopolitan convertible has been in my possession for one year now. The story starts, that is, three years prior in 2018. I was a freshman student attending McPherson College for their automotive restoration program. I was 19 at the time and chasing a Welcome to the dream in the field I love, automotive restoration. I felt as if automobiles were more than just a vehicle. Classic cars are history, an essential part of not only American culture but others as well. I didn't think much of it, but I was curious as to what this collection was. My grandmother drove me over to her friend of the Lincoln and Joseph Hill's house, but his friends knew him as "Mac."
