Comunicato stampa Snai apre le scommesse su Sochi 2014: si inizia dal biathlon Le prime due gare quotate sono la 10 km sprint maschile e la 7,5 km sprint femminile: favoriti Martin Fourcade (quota 2,75) e Darya Domracheva (3,50) MILANO – Snai accende la fiaccola olimpica e apre le prime scommesse sulle gare dei giochi invernali di Sochi 2014: da pochi minuti si può scommettere sui vincitori delle medaglie d’oro nella 10 km sprint di biathlon maschile e sulla 7,5 km sprint femminile, sempre di biathlon. Nella 10 km sprint favorito il francese Martin Fourcade, cinque titoli mondiali in carriera e argento a Vancouver nella 15 km partenza in linea, quotato 2,75, davanti al norvegese Emil Hegle Svendsen (due ori e un argento nei Giochi del 2010, 11 titoli iridati tra competizioni individuali e a squadre), quotato 4,00. Buone possibilità di podio per Ole Einar Bjoerndalen (15), l’atleta più titolato nella storia del biathlon e che punta a chiudere in bellezza la sua carriera, seguito da Tarjei Boe (18) e da Johannes Thingnes Boe (20), giovane atleta norvegese, alla sua prima Olimpiade ma con un biglietto da visita che riporta sette medaglie d’oro e una d’argento nei mondiali juniores. Per quanto riguarda la 7,5 km sprint femminile, la bielorussa Darya Domracheva (3,50) è leggermente favorita sulla norvegese Tora Berger (4,50): la prima ha vinto un bronzo a Vancouver e negli anni successivi ha messo in carniere due titoli mondiali e altrettante medaglie d’argento, la seconda nei Giochi del 2010 si è fermata a una medaglia d’oro nella 15 km individuale, ma nel 2013 ha messo insieme ben cinque titoli iridati e ora guida la classifica generale di Coppa del mondo. Biathlon is a combination of five events − individual, sprint, pursuit, relay, and mass start. In this game, the athletes compete in cross country skiing and shoot series of targets from a distance. The athletes need to be fast, focussed, and have more stamina. Every time the target is missed the biathlete either gets an additional time or distance penalty. It is important that the skier is fast enough to maintain the competition but should be slow enough to maintain control. In this game the athletes carry a rifle and shoot the target from the distance of 50m. A number of new competitions—a total of twelve ac- counting for gender—were held during the Games, including biathlon mixed relay, women's ski jumping , mixed-team figure skating , mixed-team luge , half- pipe skiing, ski and snowboard slopestyle , and snowboard parallel slalom . The events were held around two clusters of new venues: an Olympic Park constructed in Sochi's Imeretinsky Valley on the coast of the Black Sea , with Fisht Olympic Stadium , and the Games' indoor venues located within walking distance, and snow events in the resort settlement of Krasnaya Polyana . The 2014 Winter Olympics were the most expensive Olympics in history. While origi- nally budgeted at US$12 billion, various factors caused the budget to expand to US$51 billion, which is more than three times the cost of the Olympics in London and surpassing the estimated $44 billion cost of the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing.
