After having reviewed theoretical literature on minimum wage and having discussed stylized facts on labour market in Poland, the authors define econometric model to check the impact of minimum wage on employment in Poland and then discuss the results. The main conclusions of the study may be summarized as follows: i) minimum wage has had an adverse impact on employ- ment in 1999-2010; ii) the adverse effect of minimum wage on employment has been pronounced for the young workers during the period of substantial increase of the minimum wage (2005-2010), and iii) there is some evidence that a uniform national minimum wage may be particularly harmful to employment in poorest regions. -

Patent Litigation in Germany, Japan and the United States C.H
JOHANN PITZ / ATSUSHI KAWADA / JEFFREY A. SCHWAB Patent Litigation in Germany, Japan and the United States C.H. Beck, Hart Publishing and Nomos Verlagsgesellschaft, Munich / Oxford / Portland / Baden-Baden 2015, 199 + 7 pp. (Index) + XXI pp. (Contents, Abbreviations, Bibliography), 190 € (Beck, Nomos) / 262.50 £ (Hart), ISBN: 978 3 406 65075 6 (Beck). In this book, three experienced legal practitioners in patent matters in their respective countries provide in a nutshell a well-written and reliable overview on three of the most important jurisdictions for patent infringement litigation, namely Germany, Japan and the United States (U.S.). The parts on Germany were written by Dr. Johann Pitz, a well- known patent litigator in Germany who works for Vossius and Partner, a law firm in Munich specialized in intellectual property (IP) matters. Dr. Pitz is also the author of numerous publications concerning German patent law. Responsible for the parts on Japan is Atsushi Kawada, a Japanese attorney at law and patent attorney who is a graduate from the law faculty of Tōkyō University and who also studied for some years law at the University of Cologne. He has built up around twenty years of experience as a legal practitioner specialized in IP matters while working for a number of prestigious Japanese law firms and a Japanese-German law firm in Tōkyō. The parts dealing with U.S. patent law and patent litigation were written by Jeffrey A. Schwab, a U.S. patent attorney who also specializes in IP litigation. Unlike some other publications with a similar objective, also covering the legal and judicial framework for patent litigation in the addressed three countries, that rather provide a collection of individual country surveys1, this book is structured by its subject matter. -
Botanical Society of Berlin and Brandenburg, Founded 1859 E.V
Botanical Society of Berlin and Brandenburg, founded 1859 e.V. Club history With reasonable pride, the Botanical Association of Berlin and Brandenburg is celebrating its founding year in its name. It was founded in 1859 in Eberswalde as the Botanical Association for the Province of Brandenburg and the neighbouring states - thus it celebrated its 150th anniversary in 2009. It is therefore one of the oldest scientific associations in Germany. Capacities from Research and teaching have always been closely linked to him over the years. Paul Ascherson was one of its founders and most active supporters. His most famous work, the "Flora of the Province of Brandenburg, the Altmark and the Duchy of Magdeburg", Berlin 1864, is still of great importance to Berlin and Brandenburg local florists. Therefore, the association has had it reprinted, a reprint is available from us. With the "Negotiations of the Botanical Association of Berlin and Brandenburg", the association has made an important contribution to botanical research and documentation since its foundation. In cooperation with the nature conservation authorities, the observations are largely incorporated into the official "Red Lists". Projects The association offers the opportunity to participate in various projects, such as the floristic mapping of Berlin or Brandenburg. In this area there is close contact with nature conservation and environmental authorities because the relevant records are largely included in the official "Red Lists" and thus also contribute to the maintenance or creation of protected areas. Halle Pietism was a reform movement within the Lutheran church in 17th and 18th century Germany that believed the establishment church had become too concerned with correct theology, thus they aimed at a revival of intense Biblicism, personal spirituality, and social reform. The Pietists, led by August Hermann Francke (1662-1727) , and King Friedrich Wilhelm I (rl7l3-l740) were partners in an attempt to create a Godly realm in economically strapped and politically divided Brandenburg-Prussia. In large measure the partnership produced Pietist control of Brandenburg- Prussia'a pulpits and schoolrooms, despite the opposition of another informal alliance, this between the landed nobility and the establishment Lutheran church, who hoped to maintain their own authority in the religious and political spheres.
