Dear Neighbor,

The 18th edition of City Limits Music Festival is returning to at the beginning of October, and we want to send our biggest thanks in advance to you, the Festival’s next-door neighbors.

As you well know, there’s no place like Zilker Park. It’s truly the best place in the world to celebrate our city and its musical heritage, along with the people, causes, and businesses that make our Austin community one-of-a-kind.

Thanks in advance for your patience as we prepare for the next two-weekend run. We’ve included information about logistical details in the coming weeks. Please read over it for info about road closures and event times, as well as a snapshot of some of the positive impacts of ACL Festival in Austin.

Communication is key for us. Our planning involves tight collaboration with the City of Austin, Neighborhood Association groups, the Austin Parks and Recreation Department and the city’s first responders to ensure the lowest impact approach is taken for our neighbors with with respect to the street grid and circulation patterns. Rest assured, your sidewalks, streets and parkways will return to you as soon as possible.

As always, safety is our number one priority. Police, security, and other personnel are in place to keep the Festival as safe as it is entertaining in your neighborhood.

Austin Parks Foundation has been a partner and beneficiary of the Austin City Limits Music Festival for 13 years. Over the course of our partnership, $35 Million has been generated by the festival for our public parks, trails and green spaces.

In 2018 alone, through a percentage of ticket sales and other revenues, fans of ACL Fest contributed $5.1 million to Austin’s parks. Proceeds from the 2018 festival are being put toward park projects in all 10 City Council districts which means more volunteers, more programming and more improvements to Austin’s parks.

ACL Fest fans have not only invested millions into our city’s 300+ parks, trails and green spaces, they have also made Zilker Park better every year. From improvements to the Great Lawn to repairs at Barton Springs Pool and Zilker Hillside Theater, ACL Fest fans have made the 350 acres of Zilker Park a healthier and greener place to play! In 2018, 1,240 FANS registered to “Get on the List” for Love Hope Strength’s international bone marrow registry at ACL!

34% of ACL’s waste by volume was diverted from the landfill, resulting in over 128 tons of recycled and/or composted materials with the help of staff, Guest Services team members, and about 7,900 GUESTS who kept the park clean by participating in the Rock & Recycle Program.

The equivalent of 809,646 BOTTLES were filled at the CamelBak Filling Stations, bringing the nine-year total to 4,729447 CONTAINERS DIVERTED from the landfill since 2010.

Since 2007, ACL Festival has calculated and offset 16,752,474 POUNDS of carbon dioxide created by production emissions. In 2018, 5,082 YOUNG GUESTS were registered at the festival as part of the Tag-A-Kid program.
