  • 2018–2019 Information Pack Mathematical Literacy Reading
ISA International Schools’ Assessment ISAInternational Schools’ Assessment 2018–2019 Information Pack Mathematical Literacy Reading Writing Scientific Literacy Australian Council for Educational Research What is the ISA? The ISA is a set of tests used by international schools and schools with an international focus to monitor student performance over time and confirm that their internal assessments are aligned with international expectations of performance. Designed and developed by the Australian Council for Educational Research (ACER), the ISA reading, mathematical literacy and scientific literacy assessments are based on the Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA). PISA is developed under the auspices of the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD). Note that the ISA is not part of PISA and is not endorsed by the OECD. What is ACER? ACER is one of the world's leading educational research centres, committed to creating and promoting research-based knowledge, products and services that can be used to improve learning across the life span. ACER has built a strong reputation as a reliable provider of support and expertise to education policy makers and professional practitioners since it was established in 1930. The development of the ISA is linked to ACER’s work on PISA: ACER led a consortium of research and educational institutions as the major contractor to deliver the PISA project on behalf of the OECD from 2000 to 2012. What is PISA? PISA is a triennial international survey which aims to evaluate education systems worldwide by testing the skills and knowledge of nationally representative samples of 15-year-old students in key subjects: reading literacy, mathematical literacy and scientific literacy in order to inform national stakeholders about how well their education systems are preparing young people for life after compulsory education.

  • Aseema Annual Report “Let Us Think Of
“Let us think of education as the means of developing our greatest abilities, because in each of us there is a private hope and dream which, fulfilled, can be translated into benefit for everyone.” — John F. Kennedy Aseema Annual Report 2015–16 Pushing Boundaries For the past 19 years Aseema Charitable Trust has been providing high quality education to children from marginalized communities. Students at Aseema are encouraged to explore different ways of thinking, questioning and analyzing; believing that they can maximize their potential. They are nurtured with the spirit of competing with oneself, respecting the rights of others, recognizing individual differences and thereby becoming confident young individuals. India, more now than at any other time, needs our young population to be well educated with the right values — young people who think beyond just themselves and who will truly serve the nation. Aseema’s Annual report 2015-16 introduces you to the faces, smiles, curious eyes and passionate hearts of our children who strive to push their boundaries each day. As we continue our work, taking children forward from what they learn today to fulfilling their dreams tomorrow, we thank all of you who have been part of this memorable journey. Over the past fifteen years, Aseema has been working closely with the Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai (MCGM) in creating centres of excellence within the public education system. Our relationship with the MCGM has enabled us reach out to a greater number of children from marginalized communities. Through a Public Private Partnership with the (MCGM), we have adopted three Municipal schools in Mumbai — the Pali Chimbai Municipal School, the Santacruz (W) Municipal School and the Kherwadi Municipal School.

For Immediate Release October 3, 2019 Phuket, Thailand Faldo Series Phuket Honours for Rugby School Golf Scholars Caption: Ollie Bates (Director of Golf at British International School Phuket - host school) with Nilubol Panno (Girls’ Under-16) and Thonsaeng Nunya (Boys’ Under-16). Phuket, Thailand (October 3): Rugby School Thailand’s golfing scholars stole the show at the inaugural Faldo Series Phuket. Thonsaeng ‘Nua’ Nunya led the charge with a trio of successes in the 36-hole event, the first in a series of three qualifiers staged in conjunction with international schools in Thailand. With rounds of 68 and 71 at Laguna Golf Phuket, Thonsaeng topped the standings in the Boys’ Under-16 category, edging out British International School Phuket’s Sebastian Sawtell, the pre-tournament favourite. Thonsaeng’s three-under-par total of 139 also ensured that he claimed overall honours. For good measure, he combined with Rugby School Thailand team-mates Intuch ‘In’ Srisuriyachai and Jakkarin ‘Son’ Jitmaneekan to clinch victory in the Boys’ Team Division. A posting on the school’s website paid tribute to their efforts. “All five students represented the school in an exemplary manner and were a credit to Rugby School Thailand. Congratulations to them all for fantastic performances.” Also in celebratory mood was 16-year-old Nilubol ‘Bosshy’ Panno, who once more displayed her liking for the award-winning layout.
