2. Event Timings:

Reporting & dispersal timings will be intimated by the concerned host schools. However, no event will begin before 9:00 am.

3. School Team/ Participation Eligibility:

3.1 Two teams per school are invited to participate.

3.2 The team will comprise of two students from classes VI-VIII and IX-XI coordinated by one teacher for each level.

3.3 The national host school will participate directly in the national finals.

Inter -DPS Quiz -20 20 • The Inter-DPS Quiz is a general awareness programme, with a focus on current affairs and general knowledge. Its overall aim is to foster all-round knowledge acquisition, research, information processing, recall and quizzing skills in the DPS student community indirectly reinforcing age appropriate curriculum.

5. Rules & Regulations of the Inter-DPS Quiz 2020 campaign

5.1. Rules & Regulations for Preliminary Round

Preliminary Quiz is to be conducted by the concerned school. The school is to decide how it is going to conduct and the date & timings are to be decided by the school itself. However the school has to forward 2 names for the Junior for the junior team (classes VI-VIII) and 2 names for the senior team (classes IX-XI). 5.2 Rules & Regulations for Zonal & National Round

1. Every registered and participating school will select and nominate 2 students for each level (Juniors & Seniors) to represent the school in the Zonal Quiz Series. 2. 6 Zonal Quiz Rounds will be held, one day for one zone, as listed in the schedule. 3. The Zonal Quiz Rounds will be held online. The designated host school for each Zonal Quiz Round will manage the organization of the quiz via a virtual conferencing platform, working closely with the knowledge partner who will conduct the quiz. 4. Each school team will play from a single location, be it the school, a teacher’s home,or a student’s home.

6.1 For Junior Team each Zonal Quiz Round will follow the structure & timeline given below: a. Junior teams will assemble in the waiting room and will be allowed into the main meeting room for the preliminary quiz. b. The preliminary quiz will be in the form of a webinar with the Quizmaster asking and displaying questions on screen so as to be visible to all the teams. c. The preliminary round will have 20 questions: 5 Multiple Choice Questions + 10 Direct Oral Questions + 5 Visual Still Questions. d. Each question will be on screen for 15 seconds. e. Teams will have to type in their answers as text messages in the chat box, and the QM’s team will record these answers. Inter -DPS Quiz -20 20 question. If the team gives multiple answers, it will get ZERO for that question. f. At the end of the stipulated time of 15 seconds, the next question will be displayed. g. Once a question has gone off the screen, it will not be shown again. h. At the end of the allotted time, the students will exit the meeting room. i. There will be a 30-minute interval for scores calculation, during which time the Senior teams will assemble in the waiting room.

6.2 For Senior Teams each Zonal Quiz Round will follow the structure & timeline given below: a. After 30 minutes, the Senior teams will be allowed into the meeting room and their preliminary round will begin, following the same structure as for the Juniors. b. While the Senior round is in progress, the Junior scores will be finalized, the top 6 teams will be identified and informed of their qualification for the Zonal Final. c. After the Senior preliminary, the Senior teams will exit the meeting room. d. There will be a 30-minute interval for scores calculation, during which time the Junior Finalists will assemble in the waiting room. e. At the appointed time, the Junior Finalists will be admitted into the meeting room for their Zonal final. f. The Zonal Final will consist of 24 questions, divided into two rounds. These questions will be asked on ‘infinite bounce’. The teams will be shown a grid on screen, with numbers from 1 to 12. They will choose a number and be asked the corresponding question. A correct answer will get points while an incorrect answer will get a zero, and the question will pass to other teams, in a predetermined order. g. When all questions are completed, the team with the highest score will be declared the Zonal Champion. That team will represent the zone in the National Finale. h. In case of a tie scores at any level, a tie-breaker will be executed via the platform’s chat mechanism to determine the winner(s). Page 3 of 4 The Delhi Public School Society

Inter -DPS Quiz -20 20 i. After the Junior Zonal Final, there will be a 30-minute break to reset systems, during which time the Senior Finalists will assemble in the waiting room. j. At the appointed time, the Senior Finalists will be admitted into the meeting room for their Zonal final, which will follow the same structure as the Junior Final.

7. The Inter-DPS Quiz 2020 National Finale will be held either VIRTUALLY or LIVE, depending on the pandemic situation. The date, venue and structure will be communicated at an appropriate time to all finalist teams. 8. Each school can send in 1 team to compete in each age group, that is 1 team for the JUNIORS & 1 team for the SENIORS. 9. Each team must consist of 2 members, both from the same school. It is not mandatory for both team members to be from the same grade. Members in a team can be from any of Grades VI-VIII for JUNIORS and any of Grades IX-XI) for SENIORS. 10. Team composition cannot change once the preliminary round has taken place. 11. The quizmaster’s decision on content and conduction will be final and binding. 12. Any team found using unfair means or benefiting from any type of external support during the quiz will be summarily disqualified. 13. Students are advised to prepare for the quiz, bearing in mind that it is a GENERAL AWARENESS QUIZ with a SPECIAL FOCUS on the chosen themes.
