There is also a series of credit-card sized Train Service Summary Cards for our most popular routes, available from staffed stations or by calling the timetable distribution number 0870 900 2318. S Safety and security are naturally my first priority and this timetable devotes a whole B section to these. Please take the time to read these pages. If you have any concerns B while at stations or travelling, about your personal security, then please inform any of my staff or call the British Transport Police free on 0800 40 50 40. B B In your letters you tell me that punctuality, performance and cleanliness are the three B things you would most like to see improved. I am working with my team to deliver B these, together with enhancements to stations and train services and a number of developments will be introduced during the period of this timetable. C C Over the years a close relationship has been established between Wessex Trains and C the region's local authorities, government agencies, tourist attractions, rail user C groups and others interested in seeing improvements to local rail services. Much was achieved during 2004 - including the reinstatement of the double-track section C between Probus and Burngullow in Cornwall. This project is already delivering real C benefits in better performance and more capacity on our busy rail network, and I C shall work to ensure this momentum is continued. In addition, major schemes have C been completed at stations improving facilities for all users at both Bodmin Parkway and Liskeard. This has been achieved by working in partnership with Cornwall C County Council, Local Councils, the Devon & Cornwall Rail Partnership and other C bodies. D D Network Rail will be continuing its programme of track maintenance and renewal throughout the duration of this timetable. Although this may cause some D inconvenience at times, the result will be an improved rail network and I ask for your D continued patience during this period. The purpose of this paper is to outline the action taken and events since 2 June 2009 and to recommend to the Council the sale of its shares in Plymouth CityBus Ltd. The Project Board appointed Go-Ahead Holding Ltd as the preferred bidder on 29 th October 2009. Details of the company are included in Appendix 5. This report identifies the major commercial aspects of the deal and the Council’s success in achieving a consideration greater then the estimated enterprise value in March 2008 of £15m - £17.5m. The Council will have completed a competitive bidding process by the date of the Council meeting. 1 Financial Terms The preferred bidder has offered a consideration of £20.2m for 100% of the shareholding subject to adjustments as described in the Financial Implications. The adjustments, including for debt and other payments to the Council, result in the Council receiving £19.58m. The funds would be paid on the completion of the sale, which it is expected would be in the week commencing 30 th November 2009. The consideration is higher than that reported for recent disposals in Chester (c£2m ), Preston (c£6.4m), Eastbourne (c£3.7m) and Bournemouth (c£13.8m).

    Buses scrapped, or sold for scrap This is our list of buses that have been scrapped, sold for scrap, or are thought to no longer exist. These buses can be considered to fall into two categories. Buses scrapped In most cases, these buses will have been sold to a vehicle dismantler or scrap dealer, where they would be stripped of any useful parts and the remains cut up, so that the vehicle no longer exists. In some cases the dismantling or cutting up has been done by the bus owner and the remains sold to a scrap dealer. Buses sold for scrap When buses are sold for scrap, it is probably the intention of the seller that the vehicle should be dismantled. Many of our records are conclusive, in that we record that the buses no longer exist. However, other buses are shown as ‘scrapped’, but it is possible that while we believe they were sold for dismantling, the physical destruction process may not yet have happened, and the buses may still exist on the dealer’s premises in either complete form or in a delapitated condition. We will update the records on this list in due course to identify any buses that we thought had been destroyed that perhaps do still exist in ‘sold for scrap’ condition. The buses are grouped into ‘Chassis Make’ lists, in registration/licence plate order. As always, if you can update or correct anything on this list, please contact us.
