    PR Document 2020 Japanese Super Formula Championship Series Media Information August 27 2020 1 Super Formula : Then and Now In the 1950s, the Fédération Internationale de I’Automobile (FIA) launched the Drivers’ Championship to find the world’s fastest formula car drivers the purest form of racing machine. That ethos was passed on to all FIA national member organizations.Top-level formula motor racing has been held in Japan in various forms since 1973, when Formula 2000 was first launched. The competition evolved into Formula Two in 1978 and then Formula 3000 in 1987. Japan Race Promotion, Inc. (JRP) was established in 1995 and continued carrying the competition torch in 1996 under the name of Formula Nippon. In 2013, the name of the competition was changed again to Japanese Championship Super Formula and a bold plan was implemented to upgrade the race cars and lift the profile of the competition with the clear aim of spreading the appeal of Super Formula from Japan to other parts of Asia. Another hope was to turn the series into a third great open-wheel racing competition to go along with Formula One and IndyCar. The competition’s name was changed again in 2016 to Japanese Super Formula Championship. In 2017, BS Fuji began broadcasting live Super Formula races, giving many motorsport fans the chance to watch championship races on free-to-air television. In the early days, formula racing in Japan was led by top drivers such as Kunimitsu Takahashi, Kazuyoshi Hoshino and Satoru Nakajima, who later competed on the global stage in Formula One.

    Patrick Long’s & Sebastien Bourdais’ Comments About the 8th Annual Kart 4 Kids Pro-Am Kart Race It’s only fitting that this year’s 8th annual Kart 4 Kids charity karting event takes place just a few steps from the entrance of Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital in St Pete. It’s also just a stone’s throw from Dan Wheldon Way. Each year the event grows, the funds raised increase, and the awareness around a special hospital and a group of kids accelerate. Thank you to our hosts, all of the sponsors, partners, donors, pro drivers, and especially the large committee of great volunteers who make the production of this event happen. This event started off as a humble gathering, with the goal of raising a few dollars in the name of Dan Wheldon for the Hospital. Dan was a St. Pete resident, and someone who had a lot of time for All Children’s. We continue to race in his memory and smile as status and organization of this gathering continues to reach new boundaries! A few milestones were reached in 2018 for Kart for Kids. We managed to donate 130k$ to Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital, bring the event downtown and reinforce the involvement of the community and sponsors thanks to our amazing group of volunteers. The response from the racing community was no less impressive, with many drivers from different series donating their apparel and time. 2019 will be no less impressive and I want to thank each and every individual for their continued support.

    2017 INTRODUCTION Felix Rosenqvist is a Swedish racing driver, competing in the 2016-17 FIA Formula E Championship with Mahindra Racing. He is the 2015 FIA Formula 3 European champion. Felix Rosenqvist is the only driver in the history of Formula 3 to have won each of the accolades that make up the category’s “grand slam”: the European Championship (2015), the Grand Prix de Pau (2014), the Masters of Formula 3 (twice in 2011 and 2013) and the blue- riband Macau Grand Prix (twice in 2014 and 2015). In 2016, Rosenqvist dovetailed race-winning campaigns in the American Indy Lights series and Europe’s Blancpain GT Series Sprint Cup, while simultaneously racing in the top-level DTM touring car series with Mercedes-AMG. He also conducted a successful test in the Verizon IndyCar Series, America’s leading single-seater championship. Towards the end of 2016, Rosenqvist entered the Formula E arena after signing for Mahindra Racing, with the first round of the 2016-17 season taking place in Hong Kong on October 9. On his series debut, he set the fastest lap of the race, before going on to claim a headline- grabbing maiden pole position and podium in only his second start in the championship in Marrakesh, Morocco. 2017 sees Felix Rosenqvist intensify his pursuit of a maiden Formula E victory. Designated the FIA GT World Cup for the second consecutive year, the SJM Macau GT Cup joins the iconic Suncity Group Formula 3 Macau Grand Prix, which becomes the official FIA F3 World Cup for 2016. Macao’s own Andy Chang Wing Chung who is racing on his home circuit for the third time. Audi, Porsche, Mercedes and Lamborghini will fight it out for the FIA GT World Cup as the manufacturers who have registered for the governing body of motorsport’s end-of-season shoot-out for GT3 machinery. Each fields two cars as per the regulations. They will be joined on the grid by teams running Audi, Bentley, BMW, Ferrari, Mercedes and Porsche GTs. For the second running of the SJM Macau GT Cup – FIA GT World Cup, Mercedes returns with the same team and drivers that won the inaugural event last year.
