If you are open to learning, growing, and trying new strategies, this workbook is

for you. Because the reality is times are changing when it comes to what we

think of as “blogging,” or more accurately, content creation and influencer

marketing.

Things have been changing for a while now, but all of a sudden, look around…

ALL social media platforms are now video platforms and they are favoring

video content. I’m not just saying that… open Pinterest, Instagram, Facebook,

LinkedIn, YouTube (of course), and Twitter. It’s no longer merely images and

text on the screen. There are videos everywhere! Short ones, long ones, casual

ones, and professionally produced ones. It’s the wild west of video content!

copyright © 2019 Meredith Marsh | vidpromom.com | YouTube | FB | @vidpromom on Insta | tweet me @meredithmarsh What used to work doesn’t work like before… YouTube videos and embedded

videos in blog posts are replacing regular search results in Google. Videos

on Facebook are even showing up as Google search results now!

I want to introduce you to a concept that you have probably (almost definitely)

experienced but didn’t realize the power of: The “SAVE ME” Series.

If you take a look at some of the most successful content creators on YouTube

who create how-to content (ideal for starting a channel), you will see that they

often create videos as part of a series…

copyright © 2019 Meredith Marsh | vidpromom.com | YouTube | FB | @vidpromom on Insta | tweet me @meredithmarsh In the examples above, do you see a pattern? Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, etc...

These series are SEO optimized and binge-worthy… creating the exact

momentum that YouTube’s algorithm is dying to perpetuate.

Here are the results from when I published an optimized series years ago:

● New and returning viewers kept coming back for more ● I attracted new subscribers with my SEO strategy (who then binge-watched the series) ● I grew my email list by 500 new subscribers in 30 days just from this strategy

And the best part is… these videos are still getting found in search results,

being watched, and turning those random viewers into YouTube subscribers.

copyright © 2019 Meredith Marsh | vidpromom.com | YouTube | FB | @vidpromom on Insta | tweet me @meredithmarsh So let me ask you this: if successful YouTube channels are operating this way–

creating search engine optimized, binge-worthy content that attracts new

subscribers YEARS down the road–why do “just starting out” creators feel like

they can just throw their videos up on YouTube with little planning and

optimization and think that’s going to work?

The truth is, more than ever, you need content that your ideal audience just

can’t resist subscribing for.

And when you’re channel is new or small, your “SAVE ME” Series is the golden

ticket to getting found, gaining subscribers, making more money, and impacting

more people with your content, products, and/or services.

So if you don’t have many subscribers to even watch your videos when you

publish, how do you gain traction on YouTube?

You do what I call a “SAVE ME” Series...

The “SAVE ME” Series is the exact framework I walk my client through when

launching a new channel or reviving a stagnant one. I also teach this inside of

The Search & Rescue Method, but it’s so important for new YouTube creators, I

want to break it down for you here in this guide.

To create a “save me” series, start with a series of five related video topics.

These videos are planned specifically to attract NEW viewers and make hitting

the “subscribe” button a total no-brainer.

This is the kind of audience engagement that YouTube wants to see and it will

grow your channel...

copyright © 2019 Meredith Marsh | vidpromom.com | YouTube | FB | @vidpromom on Insta | tweet me @meredithmarsh This is a way to “launch” a channel that attracts your ideal audience, increases

your views, subscribers, and authority. But don’t let the word “launch” scare you

away… even if you already HAVE a channel, you’re going to “launch” a “SAVE

ME” series of binge-worthy videos that leverage the advantage of YouTube’s

algorithm.

Common Questions About The “Save Me” Series

“What if I have no channel at all yet, ZERO subscribers, and I’m starting from scratch?”

If this is your top question, you’d be just like Alexia who said:

“I didn’t have a clear focus, and I didn’t really have a YouTube strategy... Video Pursuit has given me a lot of clarity on how to choose a topic and grow my channel. It’s also helped me see that it’s worth it to grow my channel as a blogger...”

Even if you haven’t set up your channel yet and you’re at square one with NO

viewers, the “save me” series can get instant views on your channel and

increase your subscribers, even if you currently have zero. We all start

somewhere!

copyright © 2019 Meredith Marsh | vidpromom.com | YouTube | FB | @vidpromom on Insta | tweet me @meredithmarsh “What if I already HAVE a channel, but it seems DEAD?”

Michelle wrote to me and said:

“I was struggling with setting up my channel correctly, getting views and attracting new subscribers. Since joining Video Pursuit, I changed the way I should go about my strategy and it’s helped me get my channel set up correctly. Now, I am feeling much more confident and I’m getting about 10 new subscribers per week!”

And what if you ARE being consistent with your video uploads, AND you’re

putting in the time and energy to hit that publish button on YouTube and you’re

STILL not seeing new subscribers on your channel every day?

Well, you’d be just like Adrienne who was gaining now 15+ new subscribers a

day on her channel. But check out what it was like before:

“I didn’t know that my channel needed to be really niched down… I was just trying a bunch of stuff without a strategy! Video Pursuit has taught me that I need my YT channel to target a specific audience and use SEO. Now I’m getting views on my videos, I plan to monetize and be approved for YT ads, and I’m getting 15 subscribers a week!”

Adrienne learned in just a few short weeks how to create a strategy for her

channel that attracts her ideal audience.

This is what you will accomplish in this workbook!

By now you know that launching a YouTube strategy that leverages

binge-worthy content is about attracting viewers that keep coming back to YOU

as the authority in your niche. It’s about creating something so good, so helpful,

and so interesting that hitting the subscribe button and watching every new

video you publish is a no-brainer!

Here are the steps for nailing your own “save me” series:

Step 1: ASK YOUR AUDIENCE

Step 2: RESEARCH PRODUCTS

Step 3: ALIGNMENT & OPTIMIZATION

So let’s break these down in the workbook section, and you can work through

each step!

copyright © 2019 Meredith Marsh | vidpromom.com | YouTube | FB | @vidpromom on Insta | tweet me @meredithmarsh Step 1: ASK YOUR AUDIENCE

Remember the game show Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? Each participant

had three lifelines: phone a friend, 50:50, and “ask the audience.”

Well this step is kinda like that game show, but this exercise is going to guide

you to your first (or next) one thousand YouTube subscribers!

You’re not going to do a 50:50 where you’re basically using your best guess at

what works on YouTube. 50:50 odds just aren’t good enough for you–we can do

better.

And you’re not going to “phone a friend” to get the advice of just one random

person, either. That person may or may not be your ideal audience, customer, or

even interested in your niche.

Instead, what you’re going to do is ask your audience what they want to see

from you on YouTube. YES! It’s really that easy! Let me explain…

copyright © 2019 Meredith Marsh | vidpromom.com | YouTube | FB | @vidpromom on Insta | tweet me @meredithmarsh You can do this anywhere you have an audience… people who already know

you, like you, and trust your opinion on your niche topics… it could be on

Instagram, your email list, Facebook page, a Facebook group, Twitter,

LinkedIn… literally anywhere that you already have an audience.

Here’s a few examples of how to ask your audience:

Example 1: “I’m starting a free series on YouTube and I wonder… what are you *dying* to learn from me?”

Example 2: “I’m thinking about creating new videos for my YouTube channel! What tutorials and how-to videos would you like to see from me soon?”

These are open-ended questions, and that’s what you want. You want to hear

what your audience is struggling with or dying to learn in their own words.

Alternatively, post your question as a poll…

Example 3: I’m gearing up to launch my YouTube channel! What are some topics you think I should publish first… A = video topic idea B = video topic idea C = video topic idea

And that’s it! Just see what people say. Keep track of your answers on the

following page.

There are certainly a number of products that your niche audience (and you)

use on a regular basis. As the authority and influencer in your niche… you have

the opportunity to be the expert on these products… you can teach how to use

them, recommend which brands and products to buy (or not buy), and so on.

In this step, make a list of products that your audience looks for feedback,

recommendations, and how-to’s on. Also include accessories, books, and

companion products. Record your ideas below.

Search Engine Optimization sounds like a big complicated thing, but when it

comes to YouTube… SEO is actually very simplistic. In this step, you’re going to

scratch the surface of SEO for your “Save Me” series by using The Search &

Rescue Method.

The concept of The Search & Rescue Method is simple: Show up as a

search result for your ideal audience and become the HERO in your niche!

When people use YouTube’s search bar, it’s because they are looking for

something… Answers, Solutions, How-Tos… and as a content creator, you have

the opportunity to BE the search result they click on.

But in order for that to happen, your video topics need to be aligned with what

your ideal audience is searching for!

So I want to give you a sneak peek at The Search & Rescue Method for aligning

your topics with YouTube’s algorithm.

copyright © 2019 Meredith Marsh | vidpromom.com | YouTube | FB | @vidpromom on Insta | tweet me @meredithmarsh The first thing you should understand about The Search & Rescue Method is

that it’s based on YouTube’s algorithm. The algorithm is quite simple, and while

the details of optimization and tactics can seem complicated, the ultimate truth

is this: you and YouTube have the same exact goal... for people to watch

your videos on YouTube.

Yes! YouTube wants people to watch YOUR videos just as much as you do!

The Search & Rescue Method is my fail-proof framework for creating videos

that people will find, watch, and want to subscribe for more. For consistent

audience growth on YouTube, follow this framework, then “rinse and repeat.”

Viability: What are some questions or topics around your niche that you can answer in a video?

Searchability: What exactly are people searching for around these topics? Keyword research is key for YouTube!

Findability: Optimize every video you upload for the search terms your ideal audience is searching for.

Watchability: Be sure to keep your videos to the point. They don’t have to be short, but they do need to hold the viewer's interest. YouTube tracks and measures this data.

Subscribability: Provide so much value in each video that viewers want to hear from you again and hitting “Subscribe” will be a no-brainer!

The steps I’ve outlined here are absolutely critical for anyone starting a

YouTube channel or reviving a stagnant one. But what’s next?

What you’ve done in this workbook is a massive brainstorming exercise. It’s the

first thing my clients and students do when starting The Search & Rescue

Method. Now that this step is done, your next step is to follow the Method’s

5-Step Filter, and determine which topics people are searching for by using

keyword research tools like TubeBuddy and Morningfame.

Each and every step of this method is outlined in my signature course, The

Search & Rescue Method. The doors to this course are only open a few times a

year, but don’t freak out… when you join the waitlist here, you will be first in line

when the doors are open.

I’m really proud of your for making it through this entire workbook. It’s like a

mini-training in itself!

desire to grow a business online as a content creator, I 100% believe you have

the power and ability to do it. It comes down to one simple word: ACTION.

(now, take it and RUN!)

What most people don’t understand is that there is a strategy behind what you

see successful YouTube creators doing on YouTube. While you see video after

video after video, what you don’t see is how each video is carefully researched,

optimized, and linked to the creator’s other videos… like an invisible spider web!

Once you develop your own strategy based on the steps outlined in this guide

and The Search & Rescue Method, you will be light years ahead of the other

creators in your niche.
