Ev-K2-CNR scientific council Establishment of Nepalese and Pakistani Scientific Boards

n 2013, in the framework of the recent scientific activities promoted by Ev-K2-CNR in Asia, we decided to place side Iby side to Ev-K2-CNR scientific council two scientific boards, one for Nepal and one for Pakistan, in order to strengthen the interactions at national and international level and to cooperate in the planning and carrying out of the future acti- vities. The Regional Scientific Boards Members work in synergy with the Ev-K2-CNR Scientific Council, and Ev-K2-CNR, benefi- ting of their expertise and competences and of their strong relationship with local people, may implement its scientific initiative and better reply to real needs of local communities.

For Pakistan, the Scientific Board is composed of 4 members:

Aziz Ali Najam (also Ev-K2-CNR Scientific Council mem- ber) Provost & Associate Dean, Student Development & University Affairs,S hifa College of Medicine Expertise: Educational Leadership - Faculty Deve- lopment - Project Planning - Budget Monitoring - Student Counseling

Ashiq Ahmad Khan University of Peshawar, Peshawar Expertise: M.Sc. (Zoology), with specialization in Entomology - M.Sc. (Forestry) - M.Sc (Natural Resource Management)

Muhammad Akram Kahlown Expertise: PhD in Civil Engineering (expert on the various aspects of water resources management)

Qamar-Uz-Zaman Chaudhry Former Advisor (Climate Affairs) Government of Paki- stan - Former Vice President of World Meteorological Organization Expertise: researcher in the field of Meteorology, At- mospheric Sciences, Hydrology and Seismology

For Nepal, the Scientific Board is composed of 2 members:

Bhupesh Adhikary Executive Scientific Representative – Ev-K2-CNR Expertise: PhD in Chemical Engineering (expert on the atmosphere modeling)

Dinesh Bhuju Academician, Nepal Academy of Science and Techno- logy Expertise: researcher in the field of Plant Ecologist, Biodiversity

The Scientific Boards support the activities of Ev-K2-CNR Scientific Council providing guidance and advice, in particular, regarding the general scientific direction of local projects promoted by Ev-K2-CNR, the possible opportunities for integration or collaboration with existing National or International programs and the possible funding opportunities for Ev-K2-CNR activities, respectively in Pakistan and in Nepal. 8 9 ANNUAL REPORT 2013 ANNUAL REPORT 2013
