Report on STC on "Unnat Bharat Abhiyan" organized at Govt. Polytechnic, Bijnor (UP) from 16-20 September, 2019 (Oplan No.RD-8)

A Short Term Course on “Unnat Bharat Abhiyan” was organized at Govt. Polytechnic, Bijnor (UP) in collaboration with Govt. Polytecnic Bijnor and R.V. Institute of Technology, Bijnor (UP) from 16-20 September, 2019. There were 30 participants from state of Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand who participated in this short term course. Apart from it, the final year students of Diploma level as well as Degree level in Civil Engineering Department of RVIT Bijnor which were about 115 in number also participated. The experts who delivered lectures during the STC includes Professor VK Vijay from IIT, Delhi, Dr. SP Mehra from RSNH, Bharatpur, Sh. Shoorvir Singh from Patanjali.

The major focus of the STC was to do some practical and field work in the nearby selected villages namely Chowkpuri, Agra, Visath, Trilokpuri, Simalkheri and Mukrandpur. All the teachers as well as students participated in the fabrication, designing and installation of certain technologies which are useful for the villagers. The whole team fabricated 18 Nos. of Smokeless Chullahs and 03 Low Cost Kitchen with Chimney made of ferrocement structure. All the teachers and students participated in the practical work and few technologies were constructed identifying the certain needy people from five villages mentioned above.
