MONDAY 7th JUNE - FRIDAY 2nd JULY 2021 Monday 7th June- Friday 2nd July 2021 #Teacherfest
Bristol is celebrating learning and teaching this summer. For a month we are holding an inspiring SPEAKERS INCLUDE: programme of talks, workshops and panel discussions to support schools and teachers in building back better. Melissa Benn Last year’s inaugural Teacherfest, held amidst the campaigner and writer uncertainty of the first lockdown, identified the opportunities as well as the challenges for schools and for education presented by the pandemic. One year on, the issues facing children and young people as they recover from the disruption are Christine Counsell real and urgent. The four main themes running curriculum expert through our programme are designed to support schools in their response:
• Strengthening mental health and wellbeing Mya-Rose Craig • Fostering creativity environmentalist • Tackling the effects of disadvantage • Building a greener and fairer future
These are all priorities for schools, whilst also Professor Paul Howard-Jones developing young people’s zest for learning, neuroscientist whether online or face to face.
Capitalising on the strengths and opportunities that exist across Bristol, we also have the opportunity to learn from others with speakers from Scotland, Professor Bill Lucas France, Finland and the Netherlands. educationalist and writer
We hope that there is something for everyone. Please do join us to celebrate learning and teaching and help Bristol young people, Bristol teachers and Dr Tina Rae the city of Bristol flourish into the future. psychologist www.bristollearningcity.com/bep PLUS MANY MORE @Bristoledup
