Rises to fourth place in the Rolex Rankings with her fourth victory of the season
HONMA GOLF CO., LTD. HONMA GOLF CO., LTD. (head office: Roppongi Hills Mori Tower 35F, 6-10-1 Roppongi, Minato-ku, Tokyo; representative director & president: Yasuki Ito) signed a contract for the use of clubs and articles by professional golfer Shan-Shan Feng, winner of the Omega Dubai Ladies Masters tournament on the Ladies European Tour (December 7 to 10) at the Emirates Golf Club, United Arab Emirates. Feng managed to win this tournament for the third consecutive time (and fourth time in her career). With this victory, she has now won four tournaments this season (two LPGA Tour victories and two LE Tour victories) and six victories in total on the LE Tour and has risen to fourth place in the Rolex Rankings.
Beginning the last day of the tournament five strokes behind the leader, Feng proceeded to take on the challenge of playing in strong winds by drawing on her experience in winning this tournament three previous times. With an uncannily excellent read on the wind, she skillfully took tee shots and second shots on long holes with her TOUR WORLD TW727 (FW) to post a score of 64 on the final day for a total score of 10-under for the tournament to earn a well-deserved come-from-behind victory.
Throughout the 2016 season, TEAM HONMA has demonstrated the undeniable strengths of our TOUR WORLD×VIZARD clubs in tournaments held not only in Japan but worldwide by winning twenty-one tournaments in total around the globe. Comment This tournament is played on a course on which I have always played very well. Although I was five strokes behind the leader after the second day, I knew that the last day would be played in conditions marked by strong winds, which made me believe that I had a chance, since wind is a factor that I happen to deal with effectively. As I was playing, my 3W club performed exceptionally well for me. I was able to hit with confidence both on tee shots and on long second shots down the fairway. Since I aim to participate in major championships next season, I hope I can continue to count on everyone’s support.
