Executive Committee The long-term direction and policies of the World Golf Hall of Fame are determined by the Executive Committee of the World Golf Foundation's Board of Directors. The Executive Committee is made up of representatives from seven of the most respected and established organizations in golf. United States Golf Association Mike Davis, Executive Director 2013 Executive Committee Chair The USGA is a global leader in the development and support of sustainable golf course management practices. It serves as a primary steward for the game’s history, and funds an ongoing “For the Good of the Game” grants program. Additionally, the USGA’s Course Rating and Handicap systems are used on six continents in more than 50 countries. The USGA's working jurisdiction comprises the United States, its territories, and Mexico. The USGA conducts the U.S. Open, U.S. Women’s Open and U.S. Senior Open, as well as 10 national amateur championships, two state team championships and international matches. Together with The R&A, the USGA governs the game worldwide, jointly administering the Rules of Golf, Rules of Amateur Status, equipment standards, and World Amateur Golf Rankings. The Masters Tournament Jim Armstrong, Executive Director The Masters is an annual golf tournament that was established in 1934 and is held at Augusta National Golf Club. It is considered one of the four major championships in professional men’s golf. Augusta National was founded by World Golf Hall of Fame members Bobby Jones and Clifford Roberts. The Masters Tournament Foundation is a charitable extension of the Tournament designed to annually invest in development programs for the game of golf worldwide. The Foundation now serves as the vehicle whereby the Masters supports its golf development goals to reach a broader audience. Efforts include the creation of the Junior Pass Program, televising the Par 3 Contest, advancement of digital technology offerings on Masters.com, the co-founding of the Asian Amateur Championship and sustained significant monetary contributions to The First Tee and major golf organizations around the world. The R & A Peter Dawson, Chief Executive Formed in 2004 and based in St Andrews, The R&A seeks to engage in and support activities that are undertaken for the benefit of the game of golf. It takes its name from The Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrews, the members' club that, before 2004, had responsibility for the game but from which The R&A is now separate and distinct. The R&A organizes The Open Championship, golf’s oldest major championship, along with a number of other amateur and junior events, some of which are sanctioned by other golfing bodies. In addition, The R&A assumes responsibility for the administration of the Rules of Golf with the consent of 143 organizations from the amateur and professional game, and on behalf of over 30 million golfers in 128 countries throughout Europe, Africa, Asia-Pacific and the Americas. PGA TOUR Tim Finchem, Commissioner The mission of the PGA TOUR is to expand domestically and internationally to substantially increase player financial benefits while maintaining its commitment to the integrity of the game. The PGA TOUR events are also committed to generating revenue for charitable causes in their communities. The PGA TOUR organizes the FedExCup, which is a season-long competition in which players accumulate points in each eligible FedExCup Points event. The PGA TOUR also organizes the Presidents Cup, and the World Golf Championships - Accenture Match Play, Cadillac Championship, Bridgestone Invitational and HSBC Champions. The PGA TOUR’s main charitable initiative is called Together, Anything’s Possible. It aims to build a community of tournaments, players, charities, sponsors, partners, volunteers and fans who are committed to making a social investment by helping others. European Tour George O’ Grady, Chief Executive The European Tour is committed to celebrating the game of golf, from the origins of the professional game building a proud history of achievement, sportsmanship and integrity to showcasing our diverse global talent and rich landscapes. The European Tour's innovative approach enables it to embrace the world, combining championships of tradition with new tournaments in the cities and countries of the future. The European Tour partnered with Genworth Financial to create their largest outreach program, Putts4Charity. This initiative is an innovative way to raise money for charity at European Tour events involving both the Professionals and the spectating public. The PGA of America Peter Bevacqua, CEO The PGA of America is the world's largest working sports organization, comprised of 27,000 men and women golf professionals who are the recognized experts in growing, teaching and managing the game of golf, while serving millions of people throughout its 41 PGA Sections nationwide. The PGA of America organizes the PGA Championship, Ryder Cup, Senior PGA Championship, PGA Grand Slam of Golf. The PGA of America helms two community initiatives, Play Golf America and the PGA Foundation. Play Golf America helps beginning and experienced golfers find fun and affordable ways to enjoy the game of golf near their home. The mission of the PGA Foundation is to "Improve Lives Through Golf," with specific focus on America's youth, persons with disabilities and minorities. LPGA Tour Michael Whan, Commissioner The Ladies Professional Golf Association is one of the longest-running women's professional sports associations in the world. Founded in 1950, the organization has grown from its roots as a playing tour into a non-profit organization involved in every facet of golf. The LPGA Tour and the LPGA Teaching & Club Professionals (T&CP) comprise the backbone of what has become the premier women's professional sports organization in the world. The LPGA maintains a strong focus on charity through its tournaments; its grassroots junior and women's programs; its affiliation with Susan G. Komen For The Cure; and the formation of The LPGA Foundation. The LPGA Foundation is a community outreach program to develop and maintain junior golf programs across the country; to develop and maintain scholarship programs for junior golfers; to maintain a financial assistance fund for those in the golf industry; and to conduct research and develop educational activities related to golf instruction. World Golf Foundation Steve Mona, CEO The mission of the World Golf Foundation is to develop and support initiatives that positively impact lives through the game of golf and its traditional values. In support of that mission, World Golf Foundation focuses on a variety of initiatives to grow and celebrate the game of golf around the world. Through The First Tee, the World Golf Foundation focuses on positively impacting the lives of young people. Under the banner of the World Golf Hall of Fame & Museum, it preserves and honors the history of golf and the legacies of those who have made it great. The World Golf Foundation's GOLF 20/20 initiative pursues programs to ensure golf's continued growth and vitality. All World Golf Foundation initiatives work together to support the growth of the game among youth, women and minorities, while also fostering diversity within the golf industry. .
