This directory was compiled to assist you in your preparation for a season on the PGA TOUR. The Player Handbook includes a 2019–2020 tournament schedule and covers such topics as special event eligibility and special awards. The Tournament Regulations are the guide to specific rules pertaining to PGA TOUR play. We have incorporated changes made to the Tournament Regulations since last season into this season’s book. In addition, the index provides quick reference. These Regulations are the final authority on the operations and policies of the PGA TOUR. I encourage every member to become familiar with these rules. Best wishes for a successful 2019–2020 season! Jay Monahan Commissioner PGA TOUR 2 SIGNIFICANT CHANGES FOR THE 2019–2020 SEASON • The primary cut was lowered from 70 players and ties to 65 players and ties. The secondary cut was eliminated. • The cut size at The American Express will be 65 players and ties with no secondary cut. • The cut size at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am will remain 60 professional players and ties. Professionals finishing 61st to 65th and ties will receive FedExCup points and offi- cial prize money normally distributed to those places. • The Zurich Classic of New Orleans will have a cut size of 33 teams and ties. • THE CJ CUP, The ZOZO CHAMPIONSHIP, BMW Championship and World Golf Championship events will remain no cut events. • The purse distribution was adjusted for a cut size of 65 players and ties. Positions 66-70 were redistributed through positions 2-65. • There is no change to the FedExCup Point Distributions. • Opposite event field sizes were reduced from 132 to 120. • The Rookie of the Year Award was renamed the Arnold Palmer Award. The winner of the Arnold Palmer Award is eligible for the following season's Arnold Palmer Invitational. • The Genesis Invitational changed from an open event to special eligibility. • The ZOZO CHAMPIONSHIP is a new event with special eligibility. • The Bermuda Championship is a new event with standard eligibility except that there will not be Open Qualifying. • The QBE Shootout will have four sponsor exemptions restricted to PGA TOUR members instead of restricted to players within the top 40 on the PGA TOUR Career Money List. • The Practice Policy was amended as it relates to practice rounds prior to the pro-am. From the start of each season until the Masters Tournament practice putting and chipping is allowed but full shots are not allowed. After the Masters until the conclusion of the FedExCup Playoffs, practice rounds will resume as normal. • Player Endorsement Policy - Amended to address items such as alcohol, gambling and casinos. 3     BY GODFREY ROBERT SMBC SINGAPORE OPEN WINS TOP AWARD IT IS THE BEST TOURNAMENT FOR 2017, WHILE SENTOSA’S SERAPONG CLAIMS BEST COURSE HONOURS he SMBC Singapore Open beat 27 other Asian Tour events to be voted the Best Tournament of the Year 2017. The Singapore event came out tops in a voting exercise by more than 300 golfers who play in Asia, Europe, Africa and Australia. Although the prize-money for the event had dropped from a high of US$7 million to US$1 million, the Singapore Open, Tinaugurated in 1961, is a very popular tournament even among the world’s best players. Previous winners of the award include Ho Tram Cham- pionship in Vietnam and the Thailand Golf Championship in Thailand. Golfers such as Jordan Spieth, Phil Mickelson, Adam Scott, Angel Cabrera and Sergio Garcia have graced the Sin- gapore Open which has made Sentosa Golf Club’s world- acclaimed Serapong course its home since 2005. So it came as no surprise that at the Asian Tour’s annu- al awards gala night at the Royal Jakarta Golf Club on Dec 17, the Serapong layout was named the Best Course of the Year for 2017. Between 13 April and 6 October, the Pro Golf Tour play- ers will compete for a total of more than 450,000 euro in prize money and for a possible promotion to the 2022 Challenge Tour. Diedorf/Germany – The coronavirus pandemic continues to affect the Pro Golf Tour in 2021, making for a comparatively late start to the season. The Red Sea Egyptian Clas- sic at the Ain Sokhna Golf Club from 13-15 April will be the first competition for the win- ner’s trophy and the first Order of Merit points of the year; the Red Sea Ain Sokhna Classic will be held at the same venue from 18-20 April. Both tournaments are en- dowed with prize money of 30,000 euro each, and the members of the Pro Golf Tour can lay the foundation for a successful 2021 tournament season here. A season that will continue in Austria at the end of April when the players tee off at the Haugschlag NÖ Open by perfect eagle in the Waldviertel region of Lower Austria from 28 to 30 April. Resort owner Hans Geist and his team welcome the professionals again to the European opener of the Pro Golf Tour.
