Good Enough DEBUT RECORD FROM DAN VAPID FORMERLY OF SCREECHING WEASEL, RIVERDALES, THE METHADONES AND MORE! Wasting little time after the notorious SXSW incident, Dan Vapid re-teamed with former Methadones drummer and guitarist Mike Soucy and Mike Byrne, respectively, as well as ex- Screeching Weasel/Riverdales bassist Simon Lamb to form Dan Vapid and The Cheats. The 15 pop-punk tracks on the self-titled album turn out to be a pleasant amalgamation of all the aforemen- tioned bands. Tracks like "Just Like Cleopatra," "Beware of the Fog" and "It Lives By Night" would be right at home on a Riverdales record, while "Feeling Manic," "Die Trying," "What Do You Wanna Do Tonight?" and "In a Heartbeat" sound like they could have been cuts from a Methadones album. The delightfully gonzo "Devo on Speed" is a great, synth-infused tribute to new wave, but one of the band's best songs is also one of the most surprising: "Girl Group," a wonderful doo-wop throwback that sounds as if it could have been a jukebox hit from the mid-1950s. Vapid's affinity for writing solid, catchy tunes is FOR FANS OF: at the forefront of this record.

Ray Carlisle – Vocals & Guitar Kody Templeman – Vocals & Guitar Brandon Carlisle – Drums Miguel Chen – Bass You probably know this much already: Teenage Bottlerocket (or simply “TBR” to their fans) is currently one of the hottest bands in punk rock and their new record, They Came From The Shadows, is highly-anticipated. But before we go any further you should probably know that they're from Wyoming. Crazy, huh? Although more famous for its frontier forts and characters like Butch Cassidy, the “Front Range” (as it's known to the locals) may very well be the unlikely home to the next great punk rock band. At least that's what the kids are sayin'. But don't take our word for it, even Alternative Press featured them as a “Band You Need To Know in 2009”... and they don't even have those Jennifer Aniston haircuts! Their beginnings are as humble as they come. Three friends (two of them being identical twin brothers) wanted to start a fresh, no-bullshit punk band that defied—if not openly mocked—the corny emo groups that were pervading malls, mainstream, and MySpace. They took the spirit of Midwest bands like Alkaline Trio and Dillinger Four and added the earnest sensibilities of the Ramones. It made for such an undeniably likable combination that other bands were asking themselves, “Why didn't we think of that?” Not long after their forming, they doubled their number of vocalists and were joined by Kody, a fellow Wyoman and frontman of the beloved Lillingtons. With a solidified four-piece lineup they did a bunch of touring and two studio full lengths with Chicago label, Red Scare Industries.

This is the first issue of No One Rules OK, although this is the second version, the first version was so much better than this one (only kidding….they are both shit). This act has been brought in to tackle illegal downloading off the internet. Has this been done to protect the musicians, or simply for the major record companies to maintain control of the music industry and its profits ? Opinions vary over downloading , I tend to only download material that I would not buy in anycase. Either way, the Government`s heavy handed approach of blocking ISP addresses and severe fines will be just like a piss in the ocean, as the huge tide of people downloading material will continue. Music and media is so accessable via the internet so why pay for it if you can download it for free ? But what do the bands make of it all ? Heres some quotes from those lovable rock star types – Liam Gallagher - `I don’t mind I hate all these big silly rock stars that moan- at least they`re downloading your music, you cunt, and paying attention, know what I mean ? You should fucking appreciate that , what are you moaning about ? You`ve got fucking five big houses so shut up`.
