Guilin, formerly romanized as Kweilin, is a prefecture-level city in the northeast of China’s Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. It is situated on the west bank of the Li River and borders to the north. Its name means “Forest of Sweet Osmanthus”, owing to the large number of fragrant sweet osmanthus trees located in the city. The city has long been renowned for its scenery of karst topography and is one of China’s most popular tourist destinations.

Guilin University of Technology (GUT)

Guilin University of Technology (GUT), founded in 1956, is situated in the world famous scenic city of Guilin. GUT consists of 16 teaching units, offering 49 undergraduate programmes and 35 postgraduate programmes with more than 16,000 full time students and 1,700 staff. In cooperation with other universities, it also enrolls PhD candidates. GUT is a university where engineering takes the lead among its multiple discipline offerings including the liberal arts, science, management, business, law, and agriculture. Nanjing is the city situated in the heartland of lower River region in China, which has long been a major centre of culture, education, research, politics, economy, transport networks and tourism. It is the capital city of province of People’s Republic of China and the second largest city in the east China region, with acreage about 6600 square kilometers and a total population of 8,230,000. remains the de jure official legal capital of the Republic of China, which lost control of the mainland during the civil war in 1949.

Nanjing has a prominent place in Chinese history and culture, having served as the capitals of various Chinese dynasties, kingdoms and republican governments dating from the 3rd century CE to 1949. As a city located in southern part of China, it first became Chinese national capital as early as in Jin dynasty, and the name Nanjing was officially designated to the city in Ming dynasty, about a thousand years later. Nanjing is particularly known as Jinling or Ginling and the old name has been used since the Warring States Period in Zhou Dynasty.

Nanjing University of Science and Technology (NUST)

Nanjing University of Science and Technology (NUST) is one of the national key universities under the guidance of the

Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. The university has more than sixty years’ experience in providing inspiring and broadened-hori- zon education. It has become a multi-disciplinary university comprising academic fields including: science, engineering, liberal arts, economics, business, management, law and education. In addition, NUST encompasses a wide array of centers, institutes, programs, and administrative support offices.

Led by a distinguished faculty, NUST carries on its education and research on both undergraduate and post graduate levels in the graduate and professional schools: School of Mechanical Engineering, School of Chemical Engineering, School of Electric Engineering and Optoelectronic Technology, School of Computer Science and Technology, School of Automation, School of Power Engineering, School of Economics and Management, School of Science, School of Humanities and Social Science, School of Material Science and Engineering, School of Environmental and Biological Engineering, School of Foreign Languages, School of Design and Communication. It also has the school of international joint education and the school of adult education. Currently, nearly 30,000 students attend NUST.

Changshu is a county-level city under the jurisdiction of , Jiangsu province, and is part of the Yangtze River Delta. It borders the prefec- ture-level city of to the northeast across the Yangtze River. Due to the mild climate and terrain there, it has enjoyed a high level of agriculture civilization since ancient times, and is named after this, for the first character of its name means “always, often”, while the second means “ripe”. The name of the adjacent county-level city of means “great granary”. Changshu comprises 9 towns and 2 subdistricts and two provincial economy and technology development districts. As a historically and culturally famous city, Changshu is known for its long history, beautiful scenery and prosperity. It is one of the most well developed counties in China ranking among the top 10 county-level divisions nationally. Changshu has a history of more than 3000 years. It has four distinct seasons with mild climate. The annual average temperature is about 15.4 degree celsius. It is awarded one of the ten green cities and also one of the best human habitats in China.

Changshu Institute of Technology (CIT)

Changshu Institute of Technology (CIT) is located in Changshu, Suzhou – a national historical and cultural garden city with international flavor. CIT as a provincial full-time undergraduate institute was established in 1958, characterized by cultivating applied talents. It covers an area of 120 hectares with two campuses – Donghu and Dongnan campus. Exclusive foreign teachers apartment and international students apartment are provided on campus. CIT comprises 53 undergraduate majors of 12 schools which involve 9 disciplines —engineering, science, literature, economics, management, history, law, education, art, etc. It has an enrollment of over 18200 students. Among its nearly 1,200 staff, there are over 250 with doctor degree, and about 450 with senior professional title.

Shanghai is the second of the most populous city in China and the most populous city proper in the world. It is one of the four direct-controlled municipalities of China, with a population of more than 24 million as of 2014. It is a global financial centre, and a transport hub with the world’s busiest container port.
