February 14-April 4, 2021 Curated by Amelia Jones Archival and research assistance by Ana Briz, David Frantz, Hannah Grossman, Dominic Johnson, Maddie Phinney *** UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED ALL ITEMS ARE FROM THE RON ATHEY ARCHIVE*** ***NOTE: photographs are credited where authorship is known*** FAÇADE: Rear projection of “Esoterrorist” text by Genesis P’Orridge, edited and video mapped as a word virus, as projected in the final scene of Ron Athey’s Acephalous Monster, “Cephalophore: Entering the Forest,” 2018-19. Video graphics work by Studio Ouroboros, Berlin. ZONE A: Religion/Family This section of the exhibition features a key work expanding on Ron Athey’s family and religious upbringing as a would-be Pentacostal minister: his 2002 live multimedia performance installation Joyce, which is named after Athey’s mother. It also includes elements from Athey’s archive relating to Joyce—including two costumes from the live performance—and his life within and beyond his fundamentalist origin family (such as unpublished writings from his period of recovery in the 1980s, and the numerous flyers advertising fundamentalist revivals he attended). The section is organized around materials that evoke the mix of religiosity and dysfunctional (sexualized and incestuous) family dynamics Athey experienced as a child and wrote about in some of his autobiographical writings that are included in the catalogue, including Mary Magdalene Footwashing Set (1996), which was included in a group show at Western Project in Los Angeles in 2006 and in the Invisible Exports Gallery “Displaced Person” show in 2012, a former gallery just around the corner from Participant Inc.’s location.

  • Algunos Estudiantes De La Biblia Y Testigos De Jehová Relacionados Con Actividades Musicales

How did it grow up? Tell me more about your activity there. And how did you face ‘goth’ music? Mary0: Well, I don’t know what to say… I work for the scene here in Slvakia more than 15 years. In the beginning there were the parties, then the fanzine/magazine called Stigma, radio show in the local radio station, concerts and so on. It’s a long time and a lot of work was done inbetween. Nattsol: Tell me more about Batcave.sk. What is it actually? Mary0: Actually it’s more or less just the monthly party including Live acts. However, we’re working on new visual of the webzine at the moment. Well, it’s always a question of time to work on the projects like tis. Especially when one has a family and regular job. Then the priorities change a bit… 3 Nattsol: The next question is just to Mary0.

July 31, 2015 To Whom It May Concern: Promote Your Business with Lavoce’s Directory! Welcome to the preliminary edition of Lavoce’s Directory! Lavoce: We Are People Too, Inc. (Lavoce) is proud to present the first international directory for Goths, tattoo artists, sKateboarders, and others who live alternative lifestyles, or anyone whose clothing is outside the norm. This directory has more categories than any other online Goth directory. This is the most comprehensive directory available because being Goth affects all aspects of life. Our commitment is driven by the need to help Goths, and others who looK outside the norm, to feel safe to be themselves in their day-to-day jobs. This directory is the first and only directory of employers who hire people from alternative lifestyles. It has the potential to connect those who feel alone in this world to established organizations and areas of the world where Goths feel more accepted. It will build sustaining partnerships with existing organizations and revitalize the community by helping new organizations grow. Lavoce will also support Goth jobseeKers to promote job sKills training and worKplace etiquette. If you are seeing this, then you are an employer that seems open to hiring people from alternative lifestyles. I am writing to encourage your company to come forward as an openminded employer. The entries in this directory are gray because they have only been proposed but have not yet been confirmed or paid. I have included your company’s link in the first edition of this directory, but will need further information from you going forward.
