• Located 30 miles of the desert plain East of the coastal City of Sharjah, Al Dhaid is the oldest city in Sharjah with attractions such as Al Hisn Fort, the oldest castles in Sharjah, and the largest poultry, livestock, fsh and dates markets. The city also represents one of the major agricultural centres in the UAE with its numerous farms on fertile land. • It has extensive irrigated date palm plantations with water channeled from the Hajar mountains through ancient tunnels dug for that purpose, known as aflaj. • The East Coast of the UAE comprises Dibba Al-Hisn, , Kalba, Al Aqah and Fujairah. It is a 60-kilometre long strip on the coastline along the Hajar mountains, ofering a fabulous range of beaches, water sports, outdoor pursuits and cultural heritage.
