Omphalina cyanophylla and Mycena lilacifolia are considered to be synonymous. A new genus Chromosera is described to acccommodate C. cyanophylla. North American specimens are described. Variation in the dextrinoid reaction of the trama is discussed as is the circumscription of the genusMycena. Peculiar pigment corpuscles are illustrated. We have repeatedly collected - and puzzled over - an enigmatic species commonly reported in modern literature under different names: Mycena lilacifolia (Peck) Smith in North America (Smith, 1947, 1949; Smith & al., 1979; Pomerleau, 1980; McKnight & McKnight, 1987) or Europe (Horak, 1985) and Omphalia cyanophylla (Fr.) Quel, or Omphalina cyanophylla (Fr.) Quel, in Europe (Favre, 1960; Kühner & Romagnesi, 1953; Kühner, 1957; Courtecuisse, 1986; Krieglsteiner & Enderle, 1987). -

(2015): Boubínský prales virgin forest, a Central European refugium of boreal-montane and old-growth forest fungi. – Czech Mycol. 67(2): 157–226. Boubínský prales virgin forest is the best-preserved montane Picea-Fagus-Abies forest in the Czech Republic. Its core area (46.67 ha), grown with original montane forest never cut nor managed by foresters, has been protected since 1858. It represents the centre of the present-day nature reserve (685.87 ha). A detailed inventory of its fungal diversity was carried out in 2013–2014. Ten segments differing in habitat and naturalness were studied (235 ha). The total number of species was 659, with the centre of diversity in the core area (503 species) followed by the neighbouring segments grown by natural forests minimally influenced by man. When literature and herbarium data are added, the total diversity reaches a total of 792 taxa. The locality represents a unique refugium for some boreal- montane fungi (e.g. Amylocystis lapponica, Laurilia sulcata, Pholiota subochracea), a high number of rare species preferring old-growth forests (Antrodia crassa, A. sitchensis, Baeospora myriado- phylla, Chrysomphalina chrysophylla, Fomitopsis rosea, Ionomidotis irregularis, Junghuhnia collabens, Skeletocutis odora, S. stellae, Tatraea dumbirensis), wood-inhabiting and mycorrhizal fungi confined to Abies (Panellus violaceofulvus, Phellinus pouzarii, Pseudoplectania melaena, Lactarius albocarneus), and a high number of indicators of well-preserved Fagus forests (e.g. -

USA Abstract: The taxonomy of species previously assigned to Ompha/ina sensu lato or Clitocybe is reevaluated in light ofrecent molecularly-based phylogenetic hypotheses. Nomenclatural complications involving generic and specific names, lectotypifications and changes to the Code are analysed. Lichenompha/ia gen. noy. (type Hygrophorus hudsonianus, syn. Ompha/ina hudsoniana) is proposed for Jichenized fonner omphalinas. Ampulloc/itocybe gen. noy. (type Agaricus c1avipes, syn. ClilOcyhe c1avipes) is erected for its type species. Arrhenia is emended to include greyish species fonnerly included in Omphalina, but excluding reddish brown species related to Ompha/ina pyxidata, the conserved lectotype for Omphalina. The genera Cantharellula, Chrysomphalina, Cerronema, Clabrocyphella, Gliophorus, Haasiella, Hygrophorus, Hygrocybe, Pseuduarmillariella, and Rickenella, and the generic names Botrydina, Coriscium, Leptoglossum, Phaeotellus, Phytocunis, and Semiomphalina are discussed. 20 Key words: basidiolichen, Ampulloclitocybe,Arrhenia, Lichenomphalia, Omphalina, Gerronema. Squamulosae, is described and illustrated based on the morphological characters and molecular data. The fungus is characterized by numerous greyish brown to brown or dark brown squamules on the pileus surface, adnate to shortly decurrent lamellae, and a trichodermal pileipellis. Key words — Basidiomycetes, Hygrophoraceae, taxonomy Introduction The genus Hygrocybe (Fr.) P. Kumm. (Hygrophoraceae, Agaricales, Basidiomycota) is distributed worldwide, with ~150 accepted species (Kirk et al. 2008) and ~670 proposed names (http://www.indexfungorum.org). Hygrocybe sect. Squamulosae (Bataille) Singer is characterized by the dry fruitbody, squamulose or tomentose pileus, smooth stipe, and trichodermal pileipellis (at least in the pileus centre) (Boertmann 2010). More than 15 species in subsect. Squamulosae have been reported from different parts of the world (Singer 1986, Arnolds 1995, Borgen & Senn-Irlet 1995, Desjardin & Hemmes 1997, Young & Wood 1997, Borgen & Arnolds 2004, Cantrell & Lodge 2004, Leelavathy et al. 2006, Boertmann 2010, Ronikier & Borgen 2010, Vrinda et al. 2013). MushRumors The Newsletter of the Northwest Mushroomers Association Volume 22, Issue 2 May - August 2011 Spring and Early Summer Was Eventful for the Northwest Mushroomers Morel Madness 2011, at Tall Timbers Margaret Dilly Mother’s Day came early this year and the cool weather spring continued. In spite of all that we had a great photo by Vince Biciunas gathering of wonderful people at Tall Timbers Ranch. Not much in the way of edible species of mushrooms were out but I think we all had a good time. We arrived Friday afternoon to find snow still along the roadsides on the White River Road to camp. Some folks had already arrived but soon the facilities began to fill and by din- ner time we combined our food and had a mini potluck spear- headed by Fien’s delicious mushroom soup. Friday morn the weather looked fair and we ventured in groups out to find the elusive morel. The day remained fair except for one rain squall. We found lots of other species but Vince and Migo’s group were the only ones to find any amount of morels. Back to camp we went for identification of the rest. Far more snow than usual adorns the peaks around Tall Timbers Under Fred’s expert eye, 38 species were identified. Many Verpa bohemica, called the early morel were found, indicating it was early. Although we do not recommend them, some were carefully prepared and offered for sampling. Noone had immediate effects but it is not a good idea to add them to your edible list. -
