File Ref.: at 5/2 – 18/042 8 February 2018 Subject: ICAO EUR/MID Aviation Data and Analysis Seminar (Paris, France, 4 File Ref.: AT 5/2 – 18/042 8 February 2018 Subject: ICAO EUR/MID Aviation Data and Analysis Seminar (Paris, France, 4 - 6 April 2018) Action required: Reply not later than 15 March 2018 Sir, I have the honour to invite your Administration/Organization to attend the ICAO EUR/MID Aviation Data and Analysis Seminar hosted by the European and North Atlantic (EUR/NAT) Office in Paris, from 4 to 6 April 2018. The Provisional Programme for the Seminar is at Attachment A. The Bulletin describing administrative arrangements for the Seminar and other useful information for participants, including the Hotel List in Paris is at Attachment B. The objective of the Seminar is to bring together all stakeholders, (Regulators, Air Navigation Service Providers (ANSPs), Aerodrome Operators, Aircraft Operators, International Organizations and Industry) to review the current situation and trends of aviation in the EUR/NAT and MID Regions, including the synergies between aviation, tourism and trade; and the understanding of the challenges and needs of the different stakeholders, considering the cost effectiveness. The use of civil aviation data analysis for planning and decision making in ICAO, national administrations, airlines, airports and ANSPs will be also addressed. The Seminar will also include presentations on the latest applications in data and analytics that are used for efficient decision making by different aviation stakeholders, as well as a number of discussion panels addressing interesting subjects such as: information systems to improve airline efficiency, economics of airports and ANSPs. Taking into consideration the scope of the subjects to be addressed by the Seminar, it is strongly recommended that your delegation includes Experts from both the regulator and service providers’ side, involved in the economic planning and analyses, and policy making, including airport and air navigation services economics and management, forecasting, statistics, fleet planning and airline efficiency, etc. ../. The ATDA provides intelligence to Member States and stakeholders to determine the linkages between connectivity and competition at a granular level thus enabling them to take decisions to identify factors and take necessary policy measures to optimize the air transport network. The most convenient line to get to the CSO is line 2, which leaves Charles de Gaulle (Roissy) Airport every 30 minutes during the hours of 0545h-2300h and deposits passengers at Porte Maillot and Étoile (Arc de Triomphe). The journey takes about 40 minutes if the traffic is clear and an hour or more during rush hours, and costs €15 one way, €24 round trip. If you land at Orly Airport the Air France Shuttle line 1 will take you to Montparnasse and/or Les Invalides and Étoile (Arc de Triomphe). Certes, il nous manquera beaucoup dans les conseils de la Fondation, auxquels il participait régulièrement avec sa courtoisie habituelle, son jugement et son souci de faire avancer la discussion. La Fondation lui doit un hommage dont ce témoignage ne peut être qu’une modeste préface. Mais sa disparition résonne doulou- reusement bien au-delà des milieux de la Résistance et de la France libre. Comment ne pas rappeler d’abord l’étudiant en histoire saisi par la guerre, sa captivité, son évasion vers l’URSS et l’incroyable périple qui le conduisit à Londres ? Ils mettent en évidence une conviction, une audace et un courage exemplaires. Puis c’est la participation résolue à la France libre. Responsable de la propagande au commissariat à l’Intérieur, il en pilote les émissions sur la BBC, au prix d’un lourd travail de recueil et de traitement des informations. Il noue avec l’un des responsables des services secrets britanniques en France, Michael D. Foot, une amitié durable. Il estimait d’ailleurs, à juste titre, que l’histoire de la Résistance sous-estimait le rôle des réseaux britanniques et l’une de ses dernières victoires fut d’accompagner par un documentaire la traduction, quarante ans plus tard, de l’histoire que M.
