Simplified Pcnza Catalogue of Australian Stamps AUSTRALIAN STAMPS PERFORATED PCNZA (PERFIN CLUB OF AUSTRALIA AND NEW ZEALAND) By Peter Simpfendorfer Last update 23 August 2021 Stamps are listed on a simplified basis by Australian Stamp Catalogue (ASC) number. Some stamps that were issued prior to 11 February 1998 (when the club perforator came into use) are included, see note below. Stamps have only been listed if they have actually been sighted by myself or photocopies sighted. Stamps are gummed (sheet perforation) unless marked s/a (self adhesive). International stamps are noted by “bolding”. Where se-tenant pairs, strips, blocks of four, stamps with tabs and sheetlets of ten are listed, the stamps may also exist as singles. Reprint images (koala/kangaroo) may be left or right selvedge. Mini Sheets: Whilst mini sheets are list chronologically by date of issue with the various stamps issues, for ease of checking there is also a consolidated mini sheet listing towards the end of this document. Separate catalogues exist for PCNZA perfins on Australian Territory stamps (AAT, Cocos Islands, Christmas Island) and New Zealand. Acknowledgments: I thank all contributors who have provided images proving PCNZA perfins - David Coath and the Late Arthur Taylor submitted numerous images, Gordon Monk, Jerry Austen, Jason Rowe, Rob Brennan and Michael Behm have also made contributions (apologies if I have missed anyone). Other items were sourced from my personal collection. Errors and Omissions: These should be reported, with photocopies of any missing items to email address [email protected] or Peter Simpfendorfer, PO Box 2029, Wagga Wagga NSW 2650. • Saunders Scholarship Background Parameters
The Captain Reg Saunders Memorial Scholarship Background The RSL established this tertiary level scholarship for drug and alcohol abuse studies in 1992 for students of an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander background. The Scholarship was named for Captain Reginald Walter Saunders MBE. In the development of the Scholarship, consultation with ATSIC revealed then, the urgent need for qualified substance abuse professionals among the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. As such, the Scholarship required an applicant to follow studies associated with the eradication of drug and alcohol abuse. Where student’s courses did not specifically contain subjects or units dealing with substance abuse, (e.g. nurses aid) the students must be able to provide scope for such studies in their elective subjects and/or field placements. For some years now the RSL administration of the granting of the scholarships has been established through the RSL National Trustees. The Scholarship One scholarship per year of $2000 to a student nominated by the University for agreement by the RSL National Trustees. The successful student must be of good academic standing and have the intention to use their skills or profession for the benefit of the aboriginal community. While a need for the eradication of drug and alcohol abuse remains important in applying the scholarship money, the grants may be used for leadership and personal development of recipients such that on their placement back in their communities they will be better equipped generally to provide a positive example and to advise on and assist in substance abuse among their other professional skills. Half yearly progress reports are required.

Media Release 17 January 2019 Children’s authors honoured in this year’s Australia Post Legends Awards Five of Australia’s exceptional storytellers for young people will be honoured in Australia Post’s 2019 Legends Awards, which celebrates their significant contribution to Australian children’s literature. The 2019 legends - Mem Fox AM, Morris Gleitzman, Leigh Hobbs, Alison Lester and Shaun Tan - will each have their portrait featured on new postage stamps which will form part of the 2019 Australian Legends of Children’s Literature stamp issue.
