Funding

Pittsburgh Study Concept Mapping 8/1/2018 – 2/28/2019 UPMC Children’s Hospital, prime source: Shear Family Foundation Role: Principal Investigator Direct Costs: $31,018 Objectives: The goal is to use concept mapping methods to engage stakeholders in the identification and of constructs that support children to thrive in Pittsburgh. Results from this project will be used by the larger Pittsburgh Study to inform the development of associated metrics and measurement tools and the use of stages of child development/age appropriate tailored interventions to enhance child wellness.

National Domestic Hotline Services Assessment Framework based on Theory Department of Health and Human Services (16-233-SOL-00386) 9/30/2016 – 6/30/2019 Role: Co-Principal Investigator with Michelle Harmon (Westat) Subcontract Annual Direct Costs: $46,904 Objectives: The National Domestic Violence Hotline (NDVH) operates the Hotline for adults and the youth- focused “loveisrespect” (LIR), responding to victims of domestic violence and their families and referring

18

victims to community programs in response to the needs of persons affected by domestic violence. This project uses a stakeholder engaged approach and innovative methods (e.g. concept mapping) to develop and test a theoretical framework based on existing behavior change theory that characterizes (1) the needs and requests of those who contact the Hotline and LIR, (2) the services provided by the Hotline and LIR to meet the needs of contactors, and (3) the outcomes for those who contact the Hotline and LIR. The framework to will be used to develop and specify an approach for ongoing evaluation and performance measurement of the Hotline and LIR.
