CHOOSE The Association of the Managements of Self Financing Nursing Colleges represents 28 Nursing Colleges in Kerala. From 2007 onwards the Colleges were making admissions, purely on the basis of merit. Merit was being determined on the basis the marks obtained for the relevant subjects in the qualifying exams. All students were to pay uniform fees. PREFACE The state Government had initiated negotiations for seat sharing with these Colleges and an understanding have been arrived at, whereby 50% of the seats will be permitted to be set apart for Government allotment. All the students would pay the same fee. 2012-2013

Introduction

1. This prospectus relates to admission to two year Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing course in the participating colleges. 2 The names, addresses, codes and the intake capacity of institutions are as given in Annexure-A above. 3 The Association of the Colleges has decided to conduct a separate selection procedure for admission of candidates to the Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing course as authorised and enabled by the various decisions of the Honourable High Court of Kerala and the Supreme Court of India. 4 This prospectus is subject to modification/addition/deletion as may be deemed necessary by the Association and subject to further orders of Honourable Courts of law/statutory authorities. 5 This prospectus contains the rules and regulations applicable for selection and admission to Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing Course 2012-13 in the above said institutions, to management quota seats other than for the children/dependents of NRIs. 6 Each college will have its own policies of reservation/preference which are separately explained in the respective pages (Annexure B) relating to each college. Criteria of Eligibility for Nationality: Admission

Candidates must be Citizens of India / children or dependents of Non Resident Indians. Academic: i. The candidate must be a citizen of Kerala origin. ii. Should be below 45 years as on or before 31 Dec. 2012. (as per University norms) iii. The candidate should be GNM Diploma holder with 50% marks in aggregate and registered Nurse Midwife from Kerala Nurses and Midwives Council. iv. He/She should pass PUC or Plus Two with science subjects. v. The candidate should be medically fit. 2012-2013 vi. Kerala University of Health Science norms for admission for B.Sc. nursing is as under:

Admission Requirements 1. The minimum educational requirements shall be the passing of: Higher Secondary School Certificate Examination (12 years course), Or Senior School Certificate Examination(10+2), Pre-Degree Examination (10+2), Or An equivalent with 12 years schooling from a recognized board or university with Science (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) and English with minimum of 50% aggregate marks.(as per INC norms) The Norms of Kerala University of Health Sciences will be applicable. 2. The candidate should have passed 3/31/2 years GNM course and hold valid registration with KNC / INC.

3. Candidate shall be medically fit. ost Basic BSc. Nursing Course 4. Candidate should be in the rank list published by the LBS Centre for Science & Technology P for admission to Post Basic B.Sc Nursing for 2012-13.

Duration i) Duration of the programme shall be two years. ii) Internship Integrated practice is incorporated with respective practical hours in each year. iii) Rounding off of the percentage of marks to the nearest whole number is not permitted. iv) Candidates who have passed their qualifying examination from authorities other than the State of Kerala shall produce the certificate of recognition and equivalence of the qualifying examination from KNC. v) The norms of eligibility prescribed by the Indian Nursing Council/Kerala Nurses & Midwives Council/Affiliating University shall also apply.

Relaxation in marks: as per Govt. norms. Age:

Applicants should not have complete 45 years of age on 31st December 2012. No relaxation of age will be allowed.

The filled in downloaded application along with copies of documents and DD for ` 500/- (Rupees Five hundred only) drawn in favour of AMSFNCK payable at Ernakulam shall be forwarded to: Association of Managements of Self Financing Nursing Colleges of Kerala, Lisie Hospital Campus, Ernakulam, Kochi-682 018 or to the office of the member colleges of the Association.. b) The last date for receipt of application/print out of online application at the association office is 26th September 2012. c) One single application is sufficient to apply to all colleges. d) The percentage / number of seats other than NRI seats proposed to be set apart for various categories by each college is given in Annexure B. e) Candidates claiming any preferential treatment on the basis of community/denomination or any other reservation may see the reservation/preferential treatments offered by each College in Annexure B and indicate the preference in the space provided for the same in the application form. f) Applicants shall obtain acknowledgement from the association office at AMSFNCK, Lisie Hospital Campus, Ernakulam, Kochi-682 018, or form the respective colleges if the application is submitted in person. g) Applications submitted should be complete in all respects. The candidate should fill in all the items in the Application Form in his / her own handwriting.

Copies of Certificates / Documents attested by a Gazetted Officer or Head of the Institution last studied to be submitted along with the application: a. 10th/12th certificate in proof of the date of birth. b. Mark list of qualifying examination – (All semester / Year). c. Nursing registration certificate (RNRM) from Kerala Nursing Council. d. The page containing candidates name in the Post Basic B.Sc entrance rank list published by LBS Centre for Science & Technology, Thiruvananthapuram. e. Certificate of good conduct from the institution last attended issued within six months. f. In cases where the candidates claim any sort of reservation / preference provided for each college, documents to prove such claims as described in Annexure B by each college. g. Certificate in proof of SEBC/OBC/SC/ST status obtained from the Tahasildar concerned.

Application not accompanied by documents in proof of claims made therein will be summarily rejected without further intimation. Documents / Certificates furnished after submission of the application will not be entertained under any circumstances. No opportunity will be given to incorporate any details or document after the submission of the application. Late and incomplete applications will be rejected.

Candidates are instructed not to enclose any original certificates along with the application. 1. Preparation of common Merit list and Allotment of Seats: Subject to any orders that may be passed by competent Courts, admission will be only on the basis of inter-se merit on the basis of the rank obtained by the candidates in the entrance examination conducted by LBS Centre for Science & Technology, Thiruvananthapuram for admission to Post Basic B. Sc Nursing 2012-13. 2. Percentage of seats set apart under Procedure various categories. Furnishing of false information/particulars would result in the forfeiture of the candidature as well as cancellation of admission to the course if admitted and in addition, will attract the relevant provisions of criminal law of the land. Admission ost Basic BSc. Nursing Course

1. For genuine reasons, management of the individual colleges will have the right to deny P admission to any candidate even if otherwise eligible. Reasons for such denial will be recorded and intimated to the candidates concerned, if requested for. 2. Candidates are advised to visit the website of the association www.amsfnck.in from 26th September 2012 onwards for regular announcements and instructions, and to appear for interview and admission as notified therein. No separate communication will be sent in this connection. The process of allotment will continue until all the seats are filled. 3. No marks will be allotted for interview.

Centralized Counseling:

4. The centralized personal counseling will be at a common place at Lisie Hospital Campus, Kochi 682018. 5. Each Colleges will have their own counter at the Counseling centre in addition to the Principal counter where allotment is made. 6. The students will be called in the order of their merit. They can choose College according to their interest. Then an allotment order will be issued to the candidate. In case at the

06-07 / www.amsfnck.in Principal Counter, the student is not able to get allotment to the college of choice he / she has two options : 7. After collecting the allotment order, the students goes to the college counter concerned where his / her certificates are verified and the allotment is converted to admission. Subsequently, the students' remit the fee as DD for Rs. 81,000/- in favour of AMSFNCK payable at Ernakulam. 8. SC/ST candidates will have to pay the normal fee. The same will be refunded if and when the Govt. pays their fee to the college.

The fee to be paid for admission to the member Colleges is given hereunder:

I) The annual tuition fee for all Colleges : 55,000/- ii) Admission Fee : 1,000/- iii) Refundable Caution Deposit : 10,000/- iv) Special fee : 15,000/-

Hostel fee will be extra.

If a candidate leaves the college after closing of Refund/ admission, he/she will be liable for forfeiture of all the fees paid and also to pay liquidated Adjustment damages equivalent to the tuition fee for the of Fees remaining duration of the course.
